Director, E-Commerce

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of the GPN e-Commerce sales strategy and overseeing the tactical execution for all channels. Directly manages e-Commerce customer relationships (current and future) and builds plans for key retailers.
  • Serve as expert on key retailer e-Commerce capabilities and works collaboratively with cross-functional partners to increase the availability of online order and pickup, distributor fulfillment, forecasting, and program execution. 
  • Manage 3-4 3rd party relationships, such as Flywheel, continuously seeking best in class support initiatives
  • Leverage business analysis and strong understanding of financial metrics to track selling, identify key trends and maximize opportunities in the assortment to achieve growth and profitability of the ecommerce business.
  • Align with other sales channels to craft seamless omnichannel customer experience.
  • Establish strong integration into retailer eCommerce teams.
  • Report results aligned with retailer capabilities.
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure online campaigns, digital marketing, and social media strategies match site goals.
  • Partner with marketing to develop and own quarterly roadmap, sales plan, and calendars (eCommerce merchandising, content production, and marketing).
  • Maintain robust competitive intelligence to monitor trends, pricing strategies and presentation techniques.
  • Build, lead and motivate a high performing team of eCommerce and digital marketing professionals.
  • Partner with Customer Service and Supply Chain to monitor customer satisfaction and service levels and identify and pursue business-driving opportunities.
  • Define guidelines and make recommendations based on leading industry practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of Marketing/Sales leadership experience, with 3+ years of e-commerce/omni-channel experience, preferably in a CPG environment
  • Experience in health and wellness, sports nutrition, and/or supplements preferred
  • A proven track record of operating in a high growth environment and rapidly growing eCommerce revenues
  • Experience leading and developing a high performing team
  • Detailed understanding of end-to-end e-commerce processes including clear understanding of website infrastructure, content management, product attribution, and customer-facing functionality
  • Understanding of order management/customer fulfillment in an e-commerce context
  • Comprehensive experience managing a P&L (including strong understanding of financial planning) and making rapid adjustments in response to real-time financial and performance indicators
  • Highly analytical mindset when it comes to marketing analytics & ROI, and deep knowledge of e-commerce marketing systems, key performance indicators, tools, and platforms
  • Ability to lead by influencing others, especially in cross-functional and executive setting
