The Director of Analytics oversees development and implementation of an advanced analytics best practice including Business Performance Analytics, Marketing Measurement, and Behavior-based H&W demand landscape. Assess market landscape, need states, consumer trends, areas of non-consumption and white space for all relevant GPN current and prospective categories. Owns analytic learning agenda for category teams. The role resides in IL and reports to the Senior leader (VP) of Insights and Analytics.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Leads a team of Analytics professionals overseeing development and evolution of Analytics best practice
  • Establishes himself/herself as a strategic business partner with Category General Managers, Strategy, and Integrated Marketing teams
  • Provides Advanced Analytics thought leadership and collaborates on best practice approaches with cross-functional  Analytics and Data Science teams
  • Identifies and sizes market opportunities, need states, consumer trends, areas of non-consumption, and white space
  • Owns analytics learning agenda for Category teams
  • Develops and drives utilization of a behavior-based H&W demand landscape
  • Uncovers strategic “Where to Play” growth opportunities in collaboration with Category General Managers and Strategy team informing Growth, Innovation, and M&A strategies
  • Evolves Brand health tracking to drivers of mental and physical availability
  • Leads Marketing measurement including leveraging real time data for improved decision making and ROI
  • Develops foresight into H&W trends enabling greater external focus
  • Proven track record of delivering actionable business recommendations, influencing decisions, and impacting results
  • Translates data and analytic outcomes into actionable insights; especially the ability to explain difficult analytic concepts and market opportunities in simple, applicable business terms
  • Drives introduction and adoption of a comprehensive range of consumer data and analytic methodologies, continuous improvement in techniques and cost, and identifies new tools and technology to increase effectiveness
  • Strong knowledge of multiple consumer data, advanced analytic methods and modeling techniques, intelligence and visualization tools
  • Experience managing third party suppliers ensuring delivery on agreed to learning objectives and impactful outcomes
  • Agility with undefined objectives and responsibilities, ability to devise an effective solution in unstructured situations
  • Supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.

 

Education & Experience 

  • 4 year BA/BS degree required
  • Minimum of 10+ years of CPG relevant experience/area of Advanced Analytics
