The role

The Learning Solutions Director plays a critical role in delivering on our ambition to become a learning organisation, aligning the learning strategy and operating model to the business and people strategy. Responsible for building the global learning team, framework, system, governance and tools required to deliver on our learning strategy.

 

Leads and coaches the global learning team in both the CoE and People Success team to deliver high quality, evidenced based learning solutions with impact for our people and the business.

 

Works closely with the global learning team to develop a learning plan and roadmap which delivers against defined learning capability objectives for the global organization.  Acts as a change catalyst in establishing the learning culture, capability and learning practices that will empower employees and people leaders to build future orientated skills and careers.

 

Location

The base location of the roles will be in any of our office locations in Chicago or Ireland, with hybrid working arrangements available through our Smart working model which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance.

 

Key elements of the role:

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to identify current and future business requirements that drive learning needs.  Collates inputs from strategic workforce planning, capability, skills, and learning needs analysis to identify organisational learning priorities.
  • Translates organizational learning priorities into a pragmatic and executable multiyear learning strategy and activation roadmap.
  • Collaborates with and influences key stakeholders on the overall architecture of our learning operating model and strategy.
  • Leads the development of a global learning solutions framework, encompassing processes, tools, practices, modalities, governance and delivery mechanisms. Identifies a pragmatic way for the organization to adopt a social learning approach.
  • Review skills and capability requirements and learning needs on an annual basis with key stakeholders to identify gaps in current learning plan and develop solutions to address gaps.
  • Maintain a network of relationships with leading external learning providers and leverages internal learning expertise, particularly in functional areas.
  • Drives the adoption of a common learning content design and development methodology across the global organization.
  • Oversees the design and delivery of programs and content for global learning priorities, e.g. onboarding, personal effectiveness, PVVs, ESG/D&I and digital capability.
  • Partner with the Group Talent, Learning & Capability Manager to develop learning solutions and activities to address functional capability and academy requirements.
  • Partner with the Leadership Capability Lead to develop learning solutions and activities to address leadership capability and academy requirements.
  • Owns learning technologies, platforms and content, ensuring these learning enablers are progressive and relevant to meet business needs.
  • Oversees external vendor partnerships and memberships, including learning content, platform and facilitator procurement and set provider metrics.
  • Evaluate learning delivery and impact, measuring against agreed learning metrics and KPIs.
  • Leverages data and insights to drive decision making and brings innovative ideas to the continuous evolution of learning solutions. Benchmarks external thought leaders and organizational case studies for new ideas and best practice.

 

Experience/ Qualifications

  • Undergraduate qualification in a relevant discipline with post-graduate qualification desirable.
  • Member of a relevant professional body
  • Professional qualification/accreditation in learning design and delivery preferred Prior Experience             
  • Experience as a senior learning professional, preferably in a fast-paced global matrix organisation.
  • Proven record of successfully working with others to implement impactful global learning solutions, frameworks programmes and technology enablers.

  • Deep expertise and experience in the design, development and delivery of a broad portfolio of innovative learning solutions.
  • Working experience with design standards and quality metrics; solid understanding of all phase of the instructional systems design.
  • Knowledge of adult learning processes, instructional design techniques, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of how to ensure the impact of learning on business results.

  • Leveraging stakeholder input, explains organizational learning strategy so that colleagues and stakeholders can prioritize work activities and measure progress.
