The Innovation Manager is responsible for leading and directing key global innovation platforms activities, reporting to the VP Innovation & Commercialization.  The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the strategic, consumer insight and product development functions to unlock new global innovation. This position will have to ensure to interpret business strategy and determine innovative solutions supporting strategy implementation, gathering core consumer insights, industry data and lead cross functional team member process or timing. In particular, the Innovation Manager will work closely with the Insights team to develop research, analyze and suggest new marketing concepts as well as strategies.

 

Successful applicants must demonstrate understanding of the sports nutrition category and/or have deep curiosity for the sports nutrition industry, ingredients and nutrition. The right candidate needs to speak with some authority on product the ability to juggle multiple projects, lead cross functional teams, interact with regional counterparts and must demonstrate good organizational, analytical, and communication skills. The Innovation Manager needs to effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the project team, regional counterparts and internal stakeholders.

 

Required Skills:

  • Strategic thinking and strong execution capabilities to develop long term & global innovation pipeline across multiple brands
  • Lead innovation projects through the product & packaging development process
  • Communicate effectively and accurately all relevant project information to stakeholders
  • Monitor timelines and key milestones to ensure efficient, on-time delivery
  • Brief & manager internal process to create and develop new packaging labels
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams: Insights / Research & Development, Art, Sales/Regional Marketing, and Supply Chain
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities, deal with ambiguity and work with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to influence regional leads and understand global complexities
  • Demonstrated ability for multi-tasking, attention to detail, accuracy of figures/mathematics
  • Robust planning skills to accurately scope out length and difficulty of tasks, objectives, and goals

 

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor in Business. MBA preferred but not mandatory
  • +4-6 years of experience with majority of the time leading Innovation
  • Proficient in MS Project and the MS Office Suite of products.
  • Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
