Job Summary

The Supply Planner is responsible for using software to develop a six month Master Production Schedule (MPS) for assigned plants. The MPS must insure targeted inventories of finished goods are maintained so that targeted order fill rates/customer service goals are achieved and working capital goals are met. This role reports into the Supply Planning Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develops and maintains a six month supply outlook for assigned categories. The planner will have responsibility to ensure the plan maintains target inventory levels and is executed successfully through the production and fulfillment.

Interfaces with Plant Schedulers to convert rough-cut production plan to finite schedule on a weekly basis. Communicate short and long term production plans to appropriate facilities.

Identify and resolve supply planning exceptions in JDA through prioritization in the production schedule, re-allocation of available raw/pack inventory and establishment of safety stock parameters;

Develop standard and ad hoc detailed analysis for planning & fulfillment metrics. Identify key root causes for non-performance, and drive improvement initiatives across the business

Continuously find opportunities to improve supply planning techniques, methods, and approaches. Participate in projects to advance processes, service levels, efficiency, inventory, space, and cost.

Other Experience

Knowledge of the position
- A clear understanding of the relationships between the planning systems and their effect on inventory and service levels
- Solid knowledge of planning process within an MRP environment
- Advanced knowledge and use of MRP systems. Experience with JDA a plus
Skills of the position
- Exceptional analytical skills; detail oriented and well organized
- Exceptional problem solving skills
- Advanced Excel skills preferred
- Verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to other who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question.
- Role may require basic negotiation and influence, cooperation, tact and diplomacy, etc.
