Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst position, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, is a key role within the North America Finance organization that is responsible for month-end reporting and analytics, forecasting (3x/year), annual budgeting, and short-term financial planning for Glanbia Performance Nutrition. The position will work closely with multiple functions within the organization including Marketing, Sales, Demand Planning and R&D.


Key elements of this role will include:

  • Month-end reporting and variance analysis
  • Budgeting and Forecasting with explanations of volume, product/ customer mix, and rate variances
  • Understanding and managing promotional trade spend accruals for key accounts and key product groups
  • Supporting the commercial teams (Sales/Marketing), including but not limited to merchandising and promotional opportunities, pricing analysis, consumption analysis, and cost savings opportunities
  • Preparing P&L models for new product launches, line extensions, and product renovations
  • Supporting ad hoc projects and analysis


Required Skills:

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financial planning and variance analysis
  • Ability to explain business performance and craft the story to multiple audiences
  • Sell the message/influence team members and peers on commercial teams
  • Strong accounting knowledge to understand the impact to financial statements from commercial decisions
  • Advanced Excel and experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP and Business Objects
  • Critical thinking skills – identify an issue and propose solutions.
  • Self-starter comfortable communicating at various levels of the organization while also diving into the details


Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting (CPA preferred)
  • 3+ years’ experience within Finance or Accounting (FP&A experience a plus)
  • Scalable candidate with demonstrated potential to progress in the organization
  • CPG experience a plus
