Role overview

The Senior Learning Specialist will report directly to the Learning Solutions Director and will play a key role in building the global learning framework, systems and tools required to bring our learning strategy to life. Develops a learning delivery model and roadmap for learning solutions which delivers against defined learning capability objectives for the global organization.  Owns learning technologies and platforms (including LMS).

 

Location

The base location of the roles will be in North America in any of our office locations in Aurora, Downers Grove OR Chicago with hybrid working arrangements available through our Smart working model which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance.

 

Key Elements of the role

  • Leads the development of a global learning solutions framework, encompassing processes, tools, practices, modalities, governance and delivery mechanisms to execute against the learning plan.
  • Partners on the development of a multiyear organisational learning solutions plan collating inputs from strategic workforce planning, capability framework analysis and other learning needs assessments to identify organisational priorities.
  • Evaluate learning delivery and impact and develops learning recognition mechanism (e.g. learning badges/hours).
  • Oversees external vendor partnerships and memberships, including learning content, platform and facilitator procurement and set provider metrics.
  • Collaborate across BU CoE learning specialists and service delivery teams to ensure consistency of learning policies and procedures
  • Develop a learning project management framework, including budget management and progress trackers.
  • Oversees the design and delivery of organizational priority learning solutions in non-leadership and nonfunctional areas, e.g. personal and performance effectiveness, PVVs, ESG/D&I, digital capability and onboarding.  Ensure close alignment with Talent Development specialists regarding overlaps in leadership and functional/academy solutions.
  • Puts in place a mechanism to ensure that all learning curriculums meet the criteria of regulatory bodies.
  • Owns learning technologies and platforms (including LMS) and keeps technology offerings up to date and relevant to meet business needs.
  • Owns the learning content strategy.
  • Partner with BU CoE Learning specialists and Learning coordinator to create compelling campaigns around learning to entice learners and engage them in learning.
  • Contribute to enhancing our learning value proposition through storytelling and celebrating success.
  • Leverages data and insights to drive decision making and brings innovative ideas to the continuous evolution of learning solutions.

 

Experience / Qualifications

  • 3rd level qualification in a related discipline
  • Deep expertise and experience in the design and development of a broad portfolio of innovative learning solutions
  • Experience with design standards and quality metrics; solid understanding of all phases of the instructional systems design.
  • Knowledge of adult learning processes, instructional design techniques, and evaluation methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of business models and the impact of learning on business results
