Job Summary

This position will be located in the GPN Downers Drove, IL office and will focus on U.S. benefits to research, create and implement appropriate benefit programs to attract, retain individuals within the organization. The Sr. Total Rewards Business Partner - Benefits is responsible for ensuring all of the benefit programs – including the underlying processes, enabling technologies and communications are competitive, sustainable, and scalable and have an impact on the long and short term strategies of the organization.  It will support all business units within the US.

Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Partners with HR and business leaders to establish the benefit priorities to support the business and people strategies. 
  •   Serves as an internal consultant on benefits issues and planning and provides appropriate recommendations. .
  • Influences and contributes to the overall benefit strategy, leading out on specific regional initiatives and projects as needed.
  • Develops and coordinates the benefits strategy and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of our benefit programs including health, welfare, wellness, and retirement plans and vendors in tandem with Glanbia Nutritionals and GBS.
  • Responsible for management of all broker/vendor management.
  • Analyzes current programs to ensure they align with r business strategy and ensures that our programs optimize our ability to attract top talent.
  • Leads the Health & Welfare benefits committee and the 401(k) committee.
  • Ensures compliance with, and maintains current knowledge of related government rules and regulations, including the Employee Retirement Income Security act (ERISA), FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ACA and other applicable Labor and/or Tax laws and regulations; fulfills compliance and reporting requirements. 
  • Provides supervision, coaching, development and training of direct reports.
  • Design, deliver and manage U.S.  benefit programs to ensure individuals are recognized for their contributions to the organization.
  •  May assist with international benefits evaluation as needed.
  • Develops and communicates information to employees and former employees about benefit programs,procedures, changes, and government-mandated disclosures including annual enrollment coordination
  • Leads M&A benefits due diligence and implementations as applicable.


  • Experience in manufacturing/food industry preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and persuade at a senior management level
  • Proven track record in creating, overseeing and implementing successful benefit programs
  • Strong operational, project management, cross functional experience; excellent communication skills; able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines
  •  Understanding of working across different businesses and regions
  • Solid leadership experience including managing a team of professionals
  • M&A experience  preferred
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and a fast paced environment; calm under pressure
  • Agile and able to lead others through change.
