Job Summary:

  • The Supply Planner is responsible for using software to develop a six month Master Production Schedule (MPS) for assigned plants. The MPS must insure targeted inventories of finished goods are maintained so that targeted order fill rates/customer service goals are achieved and working capital goals are met.



Essential Functions:

  • Develops and maintains a six month supply outlook for assigned plants.
  • Communicate short and long term production plans to appropriate facilities.
  • Interfaces with Plant Schedulers to convert rough-cut production plan to finite schedule on a weekly basis.
  • Responsible for issuing and maintaining transfers (stock deployments) for assigned plants using JDA system
  • Represents Supply Planning in S&OP process by communicating supply chain issues and recommendations for resolution
  • Review potential shortages daily and communicate potential shortage information to appropriate departments. 
  • Participate in meetings with cross-functional team members to support business initiatives and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Manage production and inventory to balance plant capacity constraints
  • Communicate exceptions to production plans and review remediation plans with key individuals including Senior Staff in addition, resolve critical product shortage issues.
  • Analyze JDA exceptions daily  to maintain appropriate inventory levels
  • Weekly and monthly KPI reporting of production for assigned plants
  • Continuously improving supply planning techniques, method, and approach
  • Weekly Plant Meetings to communicate production misses & capacity issues and /or raw material issues
  • Review forecast changes and adjusting production accordingly. Coordinate with purchasing on raw materials availability as a result of production changes
  • Work with Supply Chain Team to determine appropriate TILs for all SKUs and work with plants to determine run strategies.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Basic information of the position

  • Knowledge of the position
    • A clear understanding of the relationships between the planning systems and their effect on inventory and service levels
    • Solid knowledge of planning process within an MRP environment
    • Advanced knowledge and use of MRP systems. Experience with JDA a plus

    • Exceptional analytical skills; detail oriented and well organized
    • Exceptional problem solving skills
    • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
    • Verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to other who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question.
      • Role may require basic negotiation and influence, cooperation, tact and diplomacy, etc.

  • Degree or equivalent experience: Bachelor’s Degree (business related field)
  • Years of experience: Must have minimum 4-8 years of related planning experience within an MRP manufacturing environment
    • Previous experience working in a production environment in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry is a plus
  • Specialized training in: Experience Business analytical tools a plus (SAP – Business Objects, Crystal Reports)
