We currently have an opportunity to join our team in Drogheda!

The Process Technologist / Lead reports to the Plant Manager. The role is responsible for optimising the efficiency of the manufacturing processes & the manufacturing equipment.  The key areas of work will be, Process Automation, Process Design, Process Reliability, Route Cause Analysis, Yield Improvements, Utility Reductions and Equipment Throughput Rate.


Key Responsibilities;

  • Provide leadership in optimisation of production processes and equipment on an on-going basis.
  • Proactively contribute to on-going efforts to improve plant efficiencies and reduce process variation.
  • Support the business in producing quality product right first time. 
  • Support Plant Personnel in implementation of improvement projects.
  • Facilitate improvement initiatives with GPS tools and techniques.
  • Provide technical support to operations in relation to equipment configurations and process parameters.
  • Analysing production performance data and providing insight into performance issues and opportunities. 
  • Assess issues that arise during operations and collaborate with the operations team, to identify improvement opportunities and the root cause of process problems.
  • Lead problem solving and RCA’s of process related quality issues in conjunction with production, maintenance and quality teams.
  • Contribute to the development of site culture and act as a role model for Glanbia values and behaviours. 
  • Support the implementation cleanliness, hygiene and health and safety standards.
  • Participate in environmental and sustainability programmes.


Key Requirements:

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Process Improvement or product development, project management required.
  • Manufacturing, preferably in a range of processes and equipment within the dairy ingredients industry.
  • Operating within, and delivering on, the highest quality standards in the dairy manufacturing sector.
  • Results driven, customer focused with high performance capability in a fast moving challenging business environment.
  • Leadership and communication skills, ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
