Marketing Specialist EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa)

Job Summary

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing, managing, and executing the marketing communications program for a specified segment of the business to drive sales growth and meet company P&L objectives.  A hands-on position, responsibilities include acquiring deep knowledge of the business, collaborating effectively with Product Management/Sales/Business Leadership, proactively generating marketing ideas, marketing planning, project management (from developing to executing marketing programs), creative writing, creative oversight, managing budgets, meeting deadlines, and evaluating results.  Responsibilities also include serving additional needs of the Marketing department as required.

 

Essential Functions

  • Execute marketing strategies, objectives, plans and programs for specified segments of the business in the EMEA region.
  • Identify emerging market trends and unmet customer needs and distill these insights into actionable programs to support sales growth and expand the business.
  • Create compelling/memorable messaging and written content for promotional campaigns across multiple media including printed materials, direct marketing, web, video, advertising, presentations, digital, etc. to ensure that programs effectively deliver business communication priorities.  
  • Drive customer engagement by actively participating in tradeshows, customer innovation/learning events, and other customer events. 
  • Support trade public relations by generating press releases and industry related articles in conjunction with the PR firm as required.
  • Collaborate actively and partner effectively with Product Strategic Management, Sales and other business functions to develop and execute successful activities to serve the needs of the business.
  • Partner with Product Strategic Management and R&D to develop regionally-relevant product prototypes and samples for use in sales demonstrations, trade shows and customer events.
  • Develop content and creative for social media. Provide input on regionally-relevant social media and online platforms for customer engagement and education in conjunction with Global Digital Team. 
  • Assist in the development of the marketing operating budget as well as monitoring and controlling expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Coordinate and prioritize activity with the Marketing Director to align with the needs of the business globally.

    Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Marketing, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience,  B2B marketing  preferable:
    • Experience in a matrix-designed organization preferred
    • Ad agency experience a plus
  • Knowledge of European nutrition industry and/or food/beverage/supplement market and trends
  • Hands –on marketer with proven experience in executing marketing initiatives including creating content independently of agency partners
  • Creativity and ingenuity to be effective in overcoming challenges of limited resources and budget constraints
  • Experience with social media and Direct Marketing programs and content development in the European market highly desired
  • Native English speaker.
  • Fluency in German preferred, fluency in other languages (French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian) helpful.
  • Strong creative skills preferred.
  • Experience managing budgets essential.
  • Experience in Account Based Marketing, Data Driven Marketing and Content Marketing a plus.
  • Proven experience in executing marketing initiatives including creating content independently of agency partners.
