Sales Development Manager

Job Purpose

To achieve the sales, distribution and profit targets for their area/company through the effective management of their team of agents, merchandisers and canvassers.

 

Main Duties/ Responsibilities     

  • Develop and build a professional business relationship with all customers through regular visits to review sales and space performance.
  • Develop and build a professional business relationship with agents and canvassers.
  • Maintain a close personal liaison with the regional sales manager on all matters affecting the business.
  • Identify and manage the key drivers of the business to ensure profitability and growth opportunities are achieved.
  • Develop the ‘doors’ business through effective management of the canvassers and agents.
  • Responsible for sales performance of the customers.
  • Integrate the customer base for Milk and Food.
  • Ensure that all customers comply with the Glanbia Consumer Foods planograms for all products.
  • Monitor our on shelf performance for all products.
  • Identify sales opportunities in new and existing accounts for all products.
  • Achieve sales targets and deadlines.
  • Ensure that the agreement with customer on service levels is achieved.

 

Role Requirements

  • Qualifications (Formal qualifications needed to carry out the job effectively)
  • Third level qualification in Business or related subject

 

Experience (Experience needed to carry out the job effectively)

  • Experience in FMCG sales is essential
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience

 

SAP Profiles Needed

  • Working Knowledge of SAP
  • PC Skills (ECDL)

 

Personal Characteristics

  • Have an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of the customer and the FMCG marketplace.
  • Proven track record of delivering on sales targets and deadlines.
  • Proven ability in consistently developing new ideas which will benefit both the business and the customer.
  • Be very experienced in problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Have strong commercial knowledge and financial acumen.
  • Have excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Have excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Active participation at team and cross functional team meetings.
