Senior SAP Procure-to-Pay Systems Analyst

At Glanbia Business Services, we have a requirement for an experienced Senior SAP Procure-to-Pay Systems Analyst to join the team. This is a permanent role based in our Citywest, Dublin Office and will report to the Senior Manager - Supply Chain Management Centre of Excellence


Glanbia have a single Global Instance of SAP ECC 6.0, and an experienced in-house team of SAP systems analysts based in a number of offices globally, to deal with ongoing SAP projects for implementation of SAP into new Acquisitions, as well as process improvement and re-design projects, and change requests across our existing user-base.

 We also have recently implemented the SAP Ariba cloud-based procurement solution integrated to our back-end SAP ECC system, and are working through a global deployment and continuous improvement programme, together with the related SAP MM integration element.


Key deliverables of the role – working as part of the existing SAP / Ariba P2P team

  • Design, develop and deliver enhancements based on requirements from specific projects, mini-projects and change requests in the SAP MM / Purchasing area, and within the Ariba procurement system.
  • Liaising with business functions and internal customers to document and agree blueprints during the project definition phase, configuring the change, planning and executing testing and post go-live hyper-care.
  • Translating and changing business processes into the business team’s procurement technology solutions.
  • Provide tecno-functional specs for the programming and PI teams as appropriate, and partnering with them on enhancement realisation – via unit testing etc.
  • Troubleshooting, validation checking, support and maintenance of our Procurement systems and interfaces between SAP MM and Ariba.
  • Solution and deliver assigned support incident work and enhancement work relating to the SAP ECC MM platform – including integration with SAP Ariba.
  • Solution and deliver assigned support incident work and enhancement work relating to the SAP Ariba platform including modelling of business requirements via the Ariba business rules, and assessment and implementation of relevant additional functionality and associated integration. (NOTE - mentoring and on-the-job training in Ariba will be provided to the successful applicant).
  • Provide SAP expert knowledge in the functional areas of MM, to respond to business needs, and contribute pro-actively to continuous improvement in Glanbia’s Procurement sytems.
  • Provide assistance to the Application Support team in the resolution of complex support calls escalated by them.
  • Technical mentoring and development of graduates and new joiners to the team where required.
  • Some limited travel to project locations will be required as part of the role.

What background and experience are we looking for?


  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in IT, Finance, Supply Chain, Business or related discipline.
  • Ideally SAP Certified in MM module for SAP ECC 6.0.
  • While mentoring and on-the-job training in Ariba will be provided to the successful applicant, prior Ariba or SRM experience would also be useful – e.g.  Experienced in Ariba integration and / or in SAP SRM.


Skills & experience

  • At least five years’ experience in hands-on configuration, development and/or support roles within SAP MM modules.
  • Experience in an MM lead role in at least three full-cycle implementations.
  • Techno/functional SAP MM post go live troubleshooting experience – i.e. more than functional work on repeated template roll-outs etc.
  • Strong cross-functional knowledge in SAP Finance, SD, Inventory Management and ideally Production Planning modules, and in VAT/Sales tax handling.
  • Experience of specifying changes via SAP enhancement points around user exits, custom routines, forms, and interfaces, and ideally in debugging simple ABAP code / routines and outputs.
  • Experience in design and implementation of integration flows to / from SAP ECC MM via iDocs, RFC’s, User exits etc.
