General Summary:

The role is accountable for ensuring that the order fulfillment performance (on-time, in full, and shipped per customer specifications) meet or exceed performance expectations for all products within the thinkThin brand portfolio, while effectively managing operating costs & cost of capital invested in inventory.

 

Key Responsibilites:

  • Develop and implement effective planning and procurement execution process across finished goods and raw materials.
  • Develop, implement & continuously improve the inventory strategy for all finished goods and raw materials, to include but not limited to:
    • Safety Stock Strategy (using APICs methodologies & calculations)
    • Stocking Strategy (including identifying what items should be stocked at which regional DC locations)
    • Production Strategy (including identifying which items should be made to order, made to stock based on forecast or made to stock based on min/max or kanban)
    • Item Classification (determine ABC classification for each. SKU)
  • Develop & publish necessary reporting for on-going management of service performance and inventory turns.
  • Develop & communicate key performance metrics, including formal performance score card for all sites (DC’s and Co-mfg).
  • Manage day to day execution to ensure seamless order flow & execution for third party logistics and transportation providers.
  • Manage supplier relationships across all third party logistics, transportation, co-mfg and raw material providers in order to meet service and cost performance targets.
  • Lead the identification of root cause analysis & development / completion of corrective action planning for any performance deficiencies.
  • Lead the project planning and execution of initiatives related to co-mfg selection and/or new product trials; related to new logistics and transportation RFP’s/implementation of new supply partners.
  • Analyze and identify cost savings opportunities across production, procurement and logistics / transportation.
  • Conducts one’s self with the highest regard to ethics.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of shipping and warehouse procedures and regulations required for domestic and international trade.
  • Knowledge of planning and inventory strategies & execution and related best practice methodologies.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to positively interact with people in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to continuously changing environments.
  • Ability to influence and coach / develop team members and vendor partners.
  • Demonstrated ability for strategic thinking and willingness to perform tactical execution.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify root causes.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic plans and manage implementation & execution

 

Education/Experience:

  • Min. Bachelors Degree required.
  • 10+ year experience in supply operations, supply planning, and logistics.
  • Experience with WMS or ERP systems.
  • Experience in domestic and international distribution.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (especially word and excel)

Lifting Demands:

Lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis floor to waist

Carry up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis up to 25 feet.
