COMMERCIALIZATION MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY

The Product and Innovation function within Glanbia Nutritionals is responsible for all product strategy, innovation and new product development across the entire GN ingredient portfolio.  Working closely with the product management, R&D and operations teams, the Product Coordination team is a critical function at GN that helps develop and maintain the key processes, information and systems that enable the development, commercialization and sales of our products.  The manager role will lead the development and embedding of key process, information and systems and ensure that our products can be successfully commercialized and scaled for commercial success. To start, the manager will be responsible for the commercialization process, product documentation and product master data management across the business. Over time the scope of this role will be global in nature.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager will be responsible for developing, embedding and managing across three key areas: Product development & commercialization, product documentation and product master data management including building and managing a team capable of delivering on the objectives.  Specific responsibilities include:

Product Development & Commercialization Process:

  • Lead the development of the guiding principles, policies and business rules that will inform the design of a standard process in support of product development and commercialization
  • Design a standard end-to-end process covering Product Development & Commercialization including guiding principles, policies and business rules
  • Manage the end-to-end Commercialization process across all product categories to deliver new products to customers or to the market in the most efficient and effective way – for both internally produced products and setting requirements for those produced with co-manufacturers
  • Work to develop an appropriate system in support of the Product Development and Commercialization process.
  • Lead the roll-out and training of the new PD & C process and system to all key stakeholders.
  • Define the KPIs that will measure and monitor the effectiveness of the PD & C process.

Product Documentation:

  • Set Product Documentation standards across all product categories working cross-functionally across product management, R&D, quality and regulatory and customer service.
  • Design and embed a standard approach and approval process for the creation and on-going maintenance of product documentation across all product categories.
  • Ensure product documentation is harmonised across all product categories and is updated to reflect ‘one face to the customer’

Product Master Data Management:

  • Design and embed a standard approach and approval process, across the all product categories and functions on the future management of material master data.
  • Implement the policies and rules that will govern the creation, change and deactivation of products determining  when new products/SKUs should be created, what data gets captured from each function and how that data gets changed and managed overtime.
  • Design and embed an automated workflow to gather all product related data for changes to existing products, creation of new products, new SKUs, purchased products and co-man produced products.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
  • A minimum of 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience managing product commercialization, documentation and data in a Food/Beverage/Ingredients company preferred

  • Good understanding of the various processes/data that underpin an effective Product Management organisation in the ingredients industry

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to influence across functional boundaries.

LANGUAGE, COMPUTER & NUMERACY

  • Fluent in English
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient with SAP
  • Familiarity with PPM systems

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regional and global travel will be required on occasion
