Job Summary

Lead the implementation and education of the Glanbia Performance System to ensure that all Maintenance employees have the tools and knowledge needed to drive improvements and sustain a zero loss work culture that upholds our non-negotiable’s using Progressive Maintenance Tools. Provide leadership to fully engage personnel in successfully identifying, implementing and sustaining equipment and resource based improvement projects to ensure delivery of annual GPS savings goals. Promote behaviors that ensure Progressive Maintenance tools and processes are fully integrated across the facility in everything we do. Be the GPS Progressive Maintenance champion for the site.

 

 

Essential Functions

  • Lead by example in exhibiting Glanbia’s values and non-negotiables.
  • Champion a zero breakdown culture utilizing all GPS and TPM tools and procedures including  LSI, RCA, BDA, FMCE, Standard Work, etc. for the Maintenance and Production Teams
  • Lead GPS activities and initiatives to ensure maintenance meets base and stretch savings goals. Continually work to fill the project pipeline and review team glide paths to ensure that goals are met and provide regular updates to plant and organizational leadership on progress.
  • Drive improvement in all plant True North measurements utilizing FI, AM, UAM and PM tools
  • Partner with pillars across the site to ensure effective processes are in place to measure gains and losses
  • Facilitate the development of annual plant FI work streams based on ZBA
  • Support GPS Boot Camp events including training, coaching and mentoring of participants.
  • Become the SME for all Progressive Maintenance Tools and be efficient in their use
  • Proactive in seeking out maintenance issues in the plant and the solutions.
  • Drive successful implementation and completion of plant pillar plans
  • Provide supervision for the planning and execution of improvement work including GIF’s
  • Compile equipment failure data management system including auditing of failures
  • Optimize Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP) to identify losses
  • Requires basic computer skills (e-mail, MS Word, Excel, Power Point) etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Additional Functions

  • Drive positive behaviors throught the plant
  • Provide leadership to the Maintenance Team and fully support all initiatives
  • Provide technical and supervisory support to the facility as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or a minimum of five years related experience and/or training.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in operations team leadership, functional team leadership strongly preferred, 1-2 years as Maintenance TL strongly preferred.
  • Successful implementation of GPS and/or TPM tools and working knowledge of related methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of dairy processing equipment and plant facilities
  • Physical ability to perform assigned jobs
  • Ability to supervise and communicate effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Self motivated, willing to accept responsibility, and ability to make good decisions
  • Ability to read and interpret instruction manuals
  • Requires skills in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of all plant equipment
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Must adhere to all company and other regulatory requirements pertaining to a dairy processing facility
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements for a manufacturing operation

 

  • Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality
  • Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed
  • Ability to read and write instructions in English
  • Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required
