Key Account Manager - Grocery - UK

Reporting to: National Account Manager Speciality & Grocery

 

Job Purpose:  

 

To execute the Commercial Strategy for the UK within the UK Grocery Channels and other key accounts such as Holland&Barrett, Boots, Costco and Argos.

 

Principal Accountabilities (not definitive)

  • To build and develop new and existing business within the grocery & speciality channels, across all facias of the retailers.
  • Work with category management to secure GPN as THE go to supplier for UK grocery & speciality retailers in the UK
  • Build strong relationships with key industry contacts
  • Represent GPN at industry events and forums
  • Key player in leading and shaping the Grocery & Speciality channel strategy’s for the UK market
  • Build out and cost and appropriate promotional & support plans by customer
  • Work with customer & trade marketing to develop appropriate marketing support plans
  • Work with demand forecasting, finance, customer service to ensure both internal & external needs are met
  • Input / influence marketing team to develop the best range available for grocery retailers
  • Liaise with 3rd party merchandisers where required / appropriate
  • Sales / Demand forecasting for customers

Skills, Know How and experience

Essential

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience within Commercial environment
  • Ideally experience across Grocery accounts, including multiple fascia’s
  • Ability to influence both cross functionally and at a senior level
  • Self- starter, highly motivated and ambitious
  • Ability to work to stretching targets in a dynamic industry
  • Highly numerate
  • Ability to plan effectively, but also think on their feet
  • High energy, high creativity but ability to work through the basics too
  • Results orientated
  • Interest in sport or health and fitness
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification

 

Desirable but not essential

  • Industry Knowledge

 

Position Dimensions:

Report to National Account Manager – Speciality & Grocery – UK, home or office (London) based, Primarily UK travel although some international travel may be required

Required to work from London office 2 x month
