Position Title: Innovation Manager – EU & Russia

Reporting to: Head of Innovation and Commercialisation - EU & RUSSIA

EU & RUSSIA revenue for 2017 was circa $250m and we have a clear growth ambition to achieve $500m revenue by 2020. This growth will come from a combination of organic sales growth, strategic acquisitions and expansion of market presence within specific geographies. With this growth rate comes significant and rapid change, both organizationally and strategically.  We are looking for consumer insight driven Innovation Manager, who can combine project management principles with keen market/consumer understanding, and who is passionate about the sports nutrition industry and also able to effectively operate within this scale and pace of change/business growth.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Consumer insight to drive innovation. Working with the insight function to deliver relevant and commercialised consumer insights and translating to innovation pipeline.
  • Innovation testing and ratification. Owning the testing and consumer validation process and management of all research agency partnerships.
    • Building on agreed insight, delivering and constructing product concept building and concept testing processes, resulting in clear opportunity direction and concept sharing with marketing and commercial teams.
  • Product Management – existing range expansion and NPD. Working with Product Manager, oversee and support all aspects of range expansion (regulatory, labelling, compliance, product testing, critical path, stage and gate process) in an efficient and transparent way, maintaining close connections with brand and commercial teams.
  • Building category and industry intelligence, and providing stimulus to marketing functions to best represent future consumer growth opportunities/platforms
  • Building internal relationships especially with Procurement/ plan and deliver/ operations / finance as well as marketing/ sales/ commercial functions.
  • Liaison with Global brand and innovation teams for globalised thinking, information sharing and best practice. 
  • Line management of one person (Product manager).

  • Passion for the sports nutrition industry
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and ambitious
  • High energy, high creativity but ability to work through the basics too
  • Experience in standard setting, change management programmes and influencing cross functionally
  • KPI setting and measurement.
  • Customer facing experience in marketing programmes and commercial ROI’s

 

Position Dimensions:

Role will be located in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire or near Waterloo in London

Travel estimated at 25%
