Operations Finance Intern

Summary:

This full-time role is designed to educate, stimulate, and develop our future business leaders. During the 10-12 week paid summer internship, you'll gain first-hand knowledge of our innovative industry, work on meaningful projects, and have opportunities to network with leaders throughout our organization. The Glanbia Internship Program provides a great foundation that will enable the Interns to be strongly considered for our Pure Ambition Graduate Rotational Program upon completion of a Bachelor’s Degree.


Responsibilities:

Experiences for each Glanbia Intern are customized based on educational program, work background, and the project opportunities available in the organization.  All internship projects will provide the opportunity to gain exposure to dairy plant operations and to Glanbia’s business.

 

Ops Finance Internships generally include the following:

  • 1-3 projects, depending on project complexity, that involve financial modeling and analysis/reporting in areas such as:
    • Product costing and analysis (Cost of Manufacture or Cost of Goods Sold)
    • Consolidation reporting of multiple businesses (i.e. JVs and Idaho)
    • Mass balance/yield modeling
    • Budget analysis, etc. 
  • Projects are assigned based on need to the business or issues we are facing that could use a fresh (outside) perspective
  • Projects generally involve working across the finance team as well as with other departments for input and investigation (i.e. working with operations on yield work, or with maintenance team on maintenance costs).

 

Candidates who are the most successful in their internships:

  • Have a positive attitude and are open to working either in a plant setting or the corporate office.
  • Intern exhibits critical thinking skills
  • Some knowledge and understanding of general cost variance analysis (i.e. usage, volume, price comparisons)
  • Some experience in Excel and a good comfort level with formulas are helpful. Some common formulas the intern will work with are vlookups, sumifs, etc.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Track record of achievement and leadership in work and/or extracurricular activities
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must be willing to relocate. (Furnished housing is provided to the intern along with a relocation allowance each year they participate in the program.)
