End User Technologies Architect

 

A vacancy has arisen for an End User Technologies Architect at Glanbia Business Services. This is a permanent position and will report to the Lead Infrastructure Architect.  This position can be based in our Kilkenny OR Citywest, Dublin office.

 

Overview

As the company’s most senior End User Technologies advisor you will be accountable for the strategic development of the global End User Technology environment within Glanbia.  You will provide technical expertise, strategic planning and recommendations to executive management for new end user technologies and applications in response to business needs. Working with internal & external partners you will evaluate and design solutions for business and customer requirements which will integrate with and enhance the existing End User Technologies Service Catalogue.  The End User Technologies Architect will apply complex design principles and methodology to ensure cost-effective and optimal use of resources and technology without risking integrity.

 

Key elements of the role

  • Develop and maintain a strategic vision for the delivery of end user services (on premise and/or Cloud) to meet key business drivers
  • Develop best practice principles, strategies, standards and policies for end user technologies
  • Design, deliver and maintain architectures and roadmaps for end user technologies that match business requirements and operating models
  • Build business cases including technical design, implementation plans and project timelines in conjunction with the IT Operations project team for execution
  • Provide advice and consultancy on end user technology related initiatives to Glanbia globally
  • Together with 'Fluency in IT' enhance end user experience and maximize investment in end user technologies
  • Provide 3rd level support for End User Technology related incidents and problems.
  • Together with Service Desk, pro-actively monitor performance of client services

 

Requirements for the position

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science

 

Skills & experience

  • 5 plus years directly related experience in an End User Technologies role
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of end user technologies including Laptops, Desktops, Smartphones, Tablets, Handhelds/ Scanners, H/W Asset Management, Productivity Applications (Office, Visio, Internet Explorer, etc.)
  • Client Management (SCCM, AV, Encryption, etc.), Client Operating Systems, Mobility, Application validation, Printing, Client S/W Packaging, S/W Asset Management.
  • Ability to work alone as an individual contributor, as a technical lead and as a participant in a team environment.
  • Excellent real world problem solving skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience working within ITIL compliant environments
