Role Profile

We are seeking a finance professional who can lead effectively within a fast paced and dynamic environment.  The role will involve partnering with the Category teams to deliver the insights required to aid decision making and contribute to the success of the business, by providing challenge and support to the team. 

 

The successful candidate will understand the probable financial implications of decisions on the Category, thereby having the ability to offer advice and support to the Category team.  A deep understanding of the consumer environment and experience in an FMCG environment is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Category team to offer insights on financial analysis to evaluate, monitor and drive business performance.
  • Understand and drive category unit / sub-unit performance by identifying, owning and developing the PI’s/KPI’s of the Consumer commercial unit and related dashboards and reports on business objects.
  • Develop and challenge strategic/business plans and identify areas of risk and opportunity.
  • Work with Consumer category to develop and challenge budgets/forecasts
  • Support the Consumer Category team in business case feasibility and development and provide on-going monitoring and evaluation of actual performance against agreed targets.
  • Support the preparation of ad-hoc analysis and management reporting to assist in business decisions, including but not limited to, Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting, Commercial negotiations & Project appraisal.
  • Support process improvement and optimisation being the key finance player in commercial/lean projects from identification through to planning and implementation phases.

 

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant or third level degree in a relevant finance or business discipline.
  • 3-5 years post qualification experience in a dynamic environment, working in FMCG environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Good knowledge and experience of SAP/BW accounting environments preferred, together with ability to use and exploit data warehousing tools and excel.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders and a desire to win.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
