Financial Accountant- Agri

The successful person will support the A&R Manager in ensuring the integrity of financial processes and financial and management reporting for the division with key responsibility for the consolidation and reporting of period end and all planning processes. 

Location: Kilkenny

Reporting to: The Accounting & Reporting Manager – Agribusiness & Support Services


Key Responsibilities

  • Accurate, timely preparation and submission of monthly and year-end financial and management accounts and reporting packs to Group and Senior Management
  • Provide analysis and supporting information to assist management teams in understanding business performance and decision making
  • Consolidation, analysis and presentation of strategic plans, budgets, forecasts and outlooks for Agribusiness
  • Review, develop and implement internal risk management procedures in conjunction with Internal Audit
  • Pro-active approach to systems and process development to reflect changing and evolving business needs
  • Maintenance of the balance sheet & production of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Plan and manage the Statutory, Annual Audit and Stocktake processes
  • Ensure compliance with best practice standards & corporate guidelines


Key Requirements:

  • Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA/ACCA)
  • 2-3 years post qualification experience ideally in a multinational organisation or practice
  • Strong financial reporting (IAS/IFRS) background and risk management experience
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including strong report writing skills
  • Can interpret complex financial and commercial issues and communicate proposals to stakeholders
  • A self-starter, with a high degree of analytical rigour with the ability to sift through detail and cut to the heart of complex commercial and financial matters
  • A strong team player who can challenge and influence colleagues at all levels
  • Track record of experience in both financial and management accounting
  • Excellent Excel / PowerPoint skills with a strong working knowledge of SAP/BW
