Financial Accountant- Finance Information Risk Management Team

This is a permanent position and will report directly to the Finance Information Risk Manager. Role Summary

The Financial Accountant will become a knowledge expert on the Glanbia financial statements, processes and systems which are deployed across the Group. The role will require regular, proactive and clear communications with accountants across the Group’s Business Units and central finance and tax functions. This role will involve working with a team of both qualified and graduate accountants in the development, maintenance and enhancement of the Group’s financial accounting systems and finance governance processes.

 

The role will involve participation on a number of large scale, group wide Finance project initiatives, along with partnering with business unit finance colleagues to deliver on business unit change projects and business as usual change requests and optimization initiatives.

 

Key Elements of the Role

  • Support and communicate the finance information risk agenda with our business units and key stakeholders and work closely with them and other stakeholders to help drive the finance information risk agenda.
  • Evaluate business as usual, finance project and acquisition change requests for any proposed impacts to the Group’s finance systems or information and assess for finance information risk.
  • Critically assess project workshop outputs and provide feedback and input into relevant project status updates to the wider Global Project Offices and central finance functions.
  • Become a knowledge expert on the Groups ERP (SAP) and Consolidated (BCS) Financial statements and systems deployed across the group.
  • Partner with the business and other stakeholders to develop best in class systems, controls and process solutions to mitigate against finance information risks by simplifying and automating business finance processes between the various SAP modules.
  • Ensure compliance with the Group’s finance information policies and procedures
  • Production, consolidation and analysis of robust Microsoft Excel models to analyze large group wide datasets and provide relevant, actionable and succinct analysis to drive project risk or governance decisions/directions.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings providing updates on business as usual activities and on-going projects.
  • Provide support to other finance change projects on an ad hoc basis

 

Qualifications

  • Recognised Professional Accounting Qualification – Minimum 1 to 2 years PQE.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on SAP knowledge with SAP FICO, SD, MM module and/or product costing experience desirable.
  • Good financial control & process improvement experience.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills desirable and strong Word and PowerPoint skills are essential.
  • Ability to communicate with managers and senior managers across different levels and functions of the organisation.
  • Good project management skills and flexible style.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
