We have an opportunity within Glanbia Co-operative Society for a Group Financial Controller to join the team!  This role reports to the Chief Financial and Secretarial Officer & will have responsibility for delivering finance excellence to Glanbia Ireland by working closely with the finance team, business partners and Shared Services Centre.


The Group Financial Controller will enable finance to be involved in the development of the strategic direction of the organisation and therefore drive growth by providing insight to the business. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the business in order to provide the specialist financial support and information that they value and provide guidance to the finance team as it delivers superior finance capability. They will also oversee the integration of the finance functions and deliver the operating model design for the Glanbia Ireland finance function.


Key Responsibilities;

  • Support Glanbia Ireland’s strategic growth targets by tracking performance through a suite of KPI’s, identify and analyze issues in performance, documenting root causes and defining corrective actions required.
  • Work with others in finance leadership roles to monitor the accuracy, completeness and integrity of financial reports and establish effective financial, risk and accounting procedures, policies and internal controls to effectively manage risks related to all assets and liabilities.
  • Work closely with direct reports such as Accounting and Reporting Lead to ensure the delivery of timely financial reports to ensure business decisions are supported by accurate and timely financial analysis.
  • Act as an escalation point for unresolved issues being managed by Finance Business Partners.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting for the organization through maximizing the use of modern IT applications, dashboards and data visualization.
  • Drive the improvement in the finance function by delivering on the standardization, automation and service delivery agenda for the finance function.
  • Manage the finance function, developing talent within the team and identifying capability gaps to be sourced externally.
  • Monitor changes in relevant legislation, accounting and auditing standards, and the regulatory environment and take action accordingly.
  • Work closely with ESG Lead to develop ESG reporting strategy and oversee the establishment of ESG reporting in Glanbia Ireland.
  • Responsible for tax planning and compliance for Glanbia Ireland.


Key Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in Finance or Accounting, Business, Economics or similar, as well as having completed an accountancy qualification
  • 5+ years post qualification experience ideally in a manufacturing environment
  • Experienced financial manager with strong technical skills and a proven ability to lead from the front and develop teams
  • Extensive experience in a senior financial role with deep finance expertise.
