The Programme Manager will report into the Chief HR & Organisation Design Officer until the appointment of the Head of Transformation and Enterprise PMO. The role is a central point of contact for project management across the Glanbia Ireland business, working with functional programme managers and individual project leads to drive effective management and reporting of the summary progress of the projects. The role is responsible for ensuring the effective co-ordination of GI’s strategic projects with particular emphasis on the management of their inter-dependencies including oversight of any risks and issues arising.

 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Act as the central point of contact for project management in GI, working with project leads to drive effective management.
  • Continue to evolve our current programme management approach to be best-in-class in managing the work programme required to deliver GI’s strategy. This will include the ownership and improvement of the PMO (Programme Management Office) toolkit which contains standard approaches and templates for planning, executing and reporting projects.
  • Work with projects leaders and functional programme managers to use the PMO toolkit, meeting regularly with this cohort to ensure the PMO toolkit is effective in enabling them to manage projects and report accurately.
  • Consolidate the status of all GI projects to be discussed at STF (strategic taskforce) meetings, ensuring oversight of the trends, risks and issues in relation to agreed scope, timeliness, budget and margin delivery. Ensuring that the inputs into the STF are effectively communicated and outcomes of the meeting are captured
  • Maintain resource and milestone tracker for key business projects, capturing consistent status and performance information to feed the governance process and enabling the accurate assessment of cross-programme and cross-portfolio risks, issues, dependencies and prioritisation requirements.
  • Produce a consolidated dashboard of the key business and financial metrics (balanced scorecard) that are discussed at key ELT meetings to track the performance of the business and delivery of the strategy. This involves consolidating data and metrics from the functions and categories, consolidating this in a clear manner and overlaying any commentary

     

    Experience and Attributes:

     

  • An excellent understanding and experience in the development and execution of Programme management methodologies / strategies.  
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a large organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills– with a particular strength in written communications.
  • A third level qualification in a relevant area which could include a business or programme management related discipline.
  • Highly motivated with proven capability to influence peers across the organization to work together and in line with a standard approach
  • Proven ability to be able to work on one’s own initiative.
