IT Security Architect


An opportunity has arisen for an IT Security Architect to join Glanbia Business Services. This is a permanent opportunity and will report to the Head of Information Security and IT Risk.



The base location of the role will be Kilkenny or Dublin 24 with a hybrid working arrangement available through our Smart working model which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance.



The IT Security Architect is a strategic role forming and delivering on Glanbia’s vision and roadmap for IT Security services. 

This is a role suitable for applicants with broad knowledge of Information Security disciplines and a proven track record in IT security solutions, stakeholder communications, acting as an internal advisor to business customers and managing change processes.

A successful candidate must demonstrate strong technical skills and business understanding combined with impersonal skills to work with IT, OT and business process specialists to visualise and implement future state IT landscapes. 


Key Elements of the Role

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify current and future requirements that drive security change programme activities;
  • Assess existing and proposed technology solution and architectures, identify security design gaps and recommend changes or enhancements to meet security objectives;
  • Support the Head of Information Security Manager by maintaining Glanbia’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) to ensure delivery of an Information Security strategy that supports business goals;
  • Perform security risk assessments, technical IT Security controls reviews to test and monitor compliance with Information Security policies and architecture models;
  • Maintain capability models for Glanbia’s security controls;
  • Support the ongoing development of information security policies and standards;
  • As part of a team, respond to and manage security incidents and alerts;
  • Work with suppliers of IT, OT and security services to ensure the on-going maintenance of a secure operating environment across all Glanbia locations;
  • Promote the importance of Information Security awareness and IT Risk Management.






  • Bachelor’s degree (NFQ 7 or higher) in IT or associated discipline
  • CISM, CISA, CISP or similar security qualification



  • A minimum of 5+ years experience in a relevant IT or security role
  • Experience of designing and implementing IT governance or Information Security frameworks (e.g. ISO27000 and NIST) 
  • Experience of dealing with and managing third-party consultants in a project implementation
  • Stakeholder & relationship management across multiple business units.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
