Manufacturing Operations – R&D Senior Business Systems Analyst

 

An opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Operations – R&D Senior Business Systems Analyst with Glanbia plc.  This is a full time position based in our Kilkenny or Citywest, Dublin office and will report to the Senior Manager of the Manufacturing Operations CoE. 

 

The base location of the role will be Citywest, Dublin 24 OR Kilkenny with a blended working arrangement available through our Smart working model which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance.

 

Overview

The Manufacturing Operations – R&D Senior Business Systems Analyst is a key role within Glanbia’s Manufacturing Operations Centre of Excellence. Working on global projects, creating and enabling new business practices or developing new technology platforms to support our business.

 

Key Elements of the Role

•    Providing expert support, knowledge and guidance in IT solutions relating to the operations of the Research & Development (R&D) business function, responding to emerging business requirements and positioning potential solutions to add value, create efficiencies and improve effectiveness of IT solutions for them.
•    Participating in cross functional implementation projects and continuous improvement initiatives including design, configuration, testing and implementation;
o    Definition of solution scope, based on workshops with business representatives and knowledge of existing core model.
o    Definition of solution blueprint and securing sign-off by relevant process representatives from the business.
o    Leading out the solution build activities including configuration, investigation of enhancement points and definition of technical programming specifications etc.
o    Leading cut-over planning and execution and providing initial hyper care post-live support.
o    Hand-over of design to application support team and service desk teams post project.
•    Coordinating system and process changes while ensuring compliance with internal change management processes.
•    Providing assistance to the GBS support teams in the resolution of complex calls escalated to them.
•    Developing an understanding of the Glanbia core IT service management processes, configuration and enhancement points for the R&D solutions used across our various divisions.
•    Working with Key Business Users to drive the effectiveness of R&D IT solutions.


Qualifications 
•    Bachelors or Master's degree in Business / Information Systems or related fields.
•    Formal training or certifications on relevant R&D IT solutions is deemed an advantage.

 

Experience
•    Minimum 3+ years’ experience required in the core skills of R&D IT solutions e.g. Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Product and Portfolio Management (PPM) or other related food formulation or labelling management software. 
•    Experience with IT solutions such as SpecPDM, Genesis R&D® or ProductVision® is deemed an advantage.
•    Experience in large deployments of R&D IT solutions in a global company.
•    Strong knowledge of the system integration points with other IT solutions such as ERP, LIMS, CRM etc.

Travel
•    20% travel required to the US and other locations where Glanbia conducts its business
