About the opportunity

Glanbia plc is seeking to recruit a Tax Manager who will be responsible for the direct tax requirements of Glanbia’s Irish and UK divisions. This is a permanent opportunity and will report to the Head of Tax.  The role will be based in Kilkenny (Head Office) or Dublin (Citywest) but is remote for now.

 

Key elements of the role

  • Responsibility for the Irish and UK divisions’ tax provision (current and deferred tax) for our group results
  • Management of all tax compliance requirements of the Irish and UK divisions
  • Liaising with auditors, external advisors and tax authorities
  • Assist with preparation of entity financial statements (review from a tax perspective and tax notes)
  • Preparation of detailed tax charge forecasts and scenario analysis for the Ireland and UK divisions
  • Advise Business Units on taxation risks, threats, and opportunities, completing R&D tax credit claims, etc.
  • Working as part of the group tax team to optimise structures and implementation of tax strategy
  • General involvement in ad hoc projects and overall group strategic planning initiatives, progressing to direct responsibility for specific projects and tax planning
  • Assist in other tax related projects as requested by the Head of Tax.

 

Qualifications 

  • Third level Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or another relevant discipline
  • Professional qualification in both Accounting and Tax (i.e. ACA/ACCA and AITI) is essential, with current membership of relevant recognised bodies.

 

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years post qualification experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Experience with Alphatax, ROS and SAP would be an advantage
  • Excellent project management skills with commitment to meet tight deadlines
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues
  • Strong communication skills, including report writing
  • Commercially astute with strong business acumen
  • Ability to work both on your own initiative and within a team environment to deliver Glanbia Group Tax’s significant value-added brief.

Other requirements

  • Occasional travel may be required from time to time (once travel restrictions end).
