Reporting to the Senior Projects Engineer, the primary responsibilities of this role will be:

 

  • Management of process & utility projects, working closely with a cross functional team of Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain and Quality departments to implement the required changes to enhance, stabilise and improve processes. Projects are both executed in-house and by external contractors.
  • Develop scope and system performance targets for tendering to external contractors
  • Review tender submissions and design proposals from external contractors
  • Monitor project expenses in line with the approved project budget.
  • Design small scale process changes and implement same
  • Provide expert technical support to the site production, maintenance and utility teams.
  • Ensure smooth transfer of project knowledge from engineering to production, including ramp up plans for new process, transfers or product introductions.
  • Assist the process automation team in developing FDS user requirements.
  • Ensure all activities, equipment and facilities comply with GMP, Health, Safety and environmental policies.

The candidate will ideally possess the following;

  • 3rd level qualification in Chemical, Mechanical or Process Engineering.
  • 5+ years experience in project management within a large scale manufacturing environment, preferably in the Dairy, Food, Beverage or Healthcare industries.
  • Successful track record of project delivery
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Excellent communication – verbal & written
