Reporting to the Head of Strategic Alliance the Senior Key Account Manager will manage a number of key customer accounts within the Ingredients category in the Glanbia Ireland business. The person will be responsible for championing the needs of their customers across the Glanbia business. They will adopt a partnership approach with their customers with a view to maximising customer engagement KPIs, while taking responsibility for facilitating the GI agenda in the context of each account.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements, working with internal stakeholders to bring the right value proposition and service level to effectively meet customer needs
  • Develop a customer strategy and create a strategic account plan in conjunction with the customer to deliver on GI’s commercial objectives and growth ambition
  • Deliver the annual sales budget through effective management of customer and internal stakeholders and managing and maximising existing customer agreements
  • Develop relationships with key customer contacts to facilitate a better understanding of the customers’ requirements and partner with customer in delivering tailored solutions.
  • Develop business plans as well as commercial and legal agreements to deliver on shared opportunities with key existing and potential partners
  • Develop relationship with other key Glanbia Group businesses to ensure that there are clearly defined and highly collaborative ways of working with shared customers in the areas of strategy planning and innovation, customer account planning and sales
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to maximise customer insights and ensure products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner in line with orders and agreed delivery terms
  • Work closely with the Head of Third Parties in relation to execution of the operations strategy, supporting them to identify and manage outsource partners to manufacture finished goods for GI customers and/or internal use

    Key Requirements:

  • Experience in account or client management in a food manufacturing (preferably dairy) context including the development of customer centric solutions
  • Evidence of excellent relationship management skills and the ability to influence people across an internal business network
  • Evidence that they are results driven, self-motivated and resourceful
  • Ability to identify shared opportunities with existing and new partners of critical scale
  • Significant experience in the development of detailed business plans and commercial and legal agreements
