Senior MES Analyst
A vacancy has arisen for a Senior MES Analyst at Glanbia Business Services in Ireland. This is a permanent position and will report to the Group MES CoE Lead.
This position can be based in our Kilkenny OR Dublin office (Citywest).
Key Elements of the Role
  • Lead large scale MES implementation projects as part of the technical team.
  • Work with Internal IT Groups and external solution providers to develop a MES core design for the Organisation.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party solution providers to develop innovative MES solutions for our manufacturing locations.
  • Document solution architectures and detailed design specifications.
  • Maintain technical skills and knowledge constantly updating them.
  • Pro-actively engage with customers in order to define to overall solution deliverables.
  • Develop Solution test plans to assist transition from development to live running.
  • Work in multidisciplinary project teams delivering new MES implementations.
  • Provide expert knowledge to assist troubleshooting efforts in existing implementations.
  • Provide assistance to Plant personnel and management teams in the effective use their MES systems.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement through the use of MES.
  • Understand Manufacturing processes and provide useful information visualisations.
  • Perform high level technical analysis activities such as requirements gathering, high level technical design, detailed technical design.
  • Comply with Glanbia Change processes when recommending or implementing system modifications or enhancements.
  • 5 years experience gained with MES/MOM technologies and their objectives.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Maths or an Engineering discipline.

  • Proven ability to work with large data sets.
  • Excellent real world problem solving skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Good knowledge of SQL.
  • Competence with common IT Applications. (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project)
  • Ability to quickly learn complex manufacturing processes.
  • Exposure to Plant automation technologies & terminology, PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI is an advantage
