Technical Projects- Project Manager

An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Projects – Project Manager at Glanbia Business Services. This is a permanent position and will report to the Sr. Manager of Technology Projects.

Working under the direction of a Sr. Manager of Technology Projects, the Project Manager role involves management of activities within all project phases and contribution to quality of key project deliverables (project charter, blueprint document, cutover plan, post go-live support plan)

Location

The location of the role can be in Kilkenny or Citywest, Dublin 24.  A hybrid working arrangement is available through our ‘Smart Working’ model, which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance.

Responsibilities 

• Responsible for maintaining programme of technical projects for a business unit
  • Ensuring prioritisation of projects is maintained / Managing interdependencies between projects / Ensuring resource capacity and availability / Maintaining individual project status within the overall programme plan / Ensuring the programme plan is kept current
• Responsible for managing delivery of complex and cross-functional technical projects to agreed designs, timeframes and budgets using Glanbia PM methodologies
  • IT upgrades within Dairy Plants / Hardware / software upgrade project delivery / Project documentation, handover to IT Operations and Service Desk / Project risk assessment and mitigation / Project status communication
• Develop and maintain project schedules
• Establish and execute communication plan to all groups including project team, stakeholders and executive sponsors
• Put together and manage project budget. Get approvals from business and IT sponsors
• Owns project change management process
• Ensure all Glanbia standards and policies are adhered by the project team
• Adhere to IT design principles and standards as defined by Global Infrastructure & Design Services
• Experience and knowledge of industry best practices in project management. Stay current with Project Management trends
• Ability to learn quickly and immediately apply new knowledge
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and ambiguous environment

Qualifications

• 3rd level relevant technical qualification

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in Project Management within a globally dispersed organisation
• Experience in supporting multiple projects concurrently
• Strong sense of professionalism and comfortable interacting with all levels of seniority
• Knowledge of the cost, timeline, and resources necessary in deploying technology projects
• Ability to work well within an environment of frequently changing priorities, adapt as needed and develop a solution-oriented approach
