Glanbia Business Services (GBS) is a world class organization delivering market leading technologies, solutions and services to the global business units to enable them to achieve their strategic objectives. GBS manage all the IT and Shared Services within Glanbia across four areas: technology, applications, digital media, and shared services.

 

The Role

As the Financial Controller - GBS, you will have full responsibility for all aspects of Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Service Recharge Process, external audit as well as the business partnership service provided to the GBS management team.  The business partnership role is critical and you and your team will be a key point of contact on commercial finance, financial process as well as technical accounting matters for the global GBS management team.

 

Key stakeholders at a senior level across Glanbia are the GBS Management Team, Group Finance, Group FP&A, Group Tax and Business Unit Finance. Ideally, you will be equally comfortable in the detail and as commentator on the performance of the GBS business through presenting largely but not exclusively financial information to a broad stakeholder group.

 

Reporting to Director Shared Services – EMEA.

 

 

Location

The base location of the role can be Citywest, Dublin 24, Kilkenny or Dungarvan, Co Waterford where our GBS offices are located with a blended working arrangement available through our Smart working model which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an effective business partnership model to support the global GBS management team.
  • Support and develop an experienced finance team responsible for month end, financial planning and ad hoc analysis.
  • Lead the Month end close process and review (income statement, balance sheet and cash flow), with a particular emphasis on providing guidance to the team on technical accounting matters and matters requiring specific judgement associated with business knowledge.
  • Lead commentary on the month end-results for sharing with various stakeholders.
  • Act as the key point of contact for the external audit of GBS entities manage all aspects of the audit from planning to close.
  • Manage the delivery of the various Financial Planning processes from budget to forecasts etc.
  • Oversee the FP&A process for GBS including supporting the presentation of service recharges to the business units.
  • Manage the GBS service recharge process to the business units.
  • Oversee GBS cash forecast process.
  • Continuous improvement of reporting analytics through deployment of SAP Analytics Cloud or equivalent.
  • Continuous improvement of FP&A process through deployment of SAC Planning or equivalent.
  • Ensure that the internal control environment in operation in GBS provides the appropriate level of control assurance as it pertains to entities within the global GBS organization.
  • Other ad hoc project support as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Professional qualified accountant either ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent and retain membership of the relevant accounting body

 

Experience

 

  • 5+ years finance experience in industry.
  • Demonstrated technical accounting experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Demonstrated experience of leading and managing teams in a fast-paced dynamic and changing environment.
  • Demonstrated record of implementing change through technology to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated record of achieving tight deadlines.
  • Record of leading effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Structured and analytical thinker, data-driven with strong technology capability.
