Job Summary

Provide project support to Spartan Project Manager and Spartan engineering team in managing project logistics and communications, including having primary responsibility for document management and control, and providing assistance for management of vendor invoicing and payments, subcontractor management, and both internal and external communications during the project.   This position will be located in central Michigan and is full time only for the duration of Project Spartan (approximately until the end of 2021).


Essential Functions

  • Upholds the culture of Glanbia non-negotiables, driving to zero losses using GPS tools
  • Establish and maintain a robust and comprehensive system to ensure clear communication between the project team and both internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to both Glanbia functional leaders along with process vendors
  • Attend all Spartan meetings and collect and publish minutes.
  • Develop and publish Power Point presentations as directed by the Spartan Project Manager and project team
  • Working with engineering team and Project Manager, assist in arranging logistics for all project meetings
  • Assist the engineering team in developing and executing all subcontractor scopes and contracts
  • Assist the engineering team in processing and payment of all vendor invoicing
  • Maintain office operations for Spartan project team by procuring and obtaining all supplies needed, as directed by the Project Manager


Additional Functions

  • Maintain documentation library (drawings, manuals, standards, etc).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both in oral and written form.  Experience with Microsoft Office products is a must.
  • Ability to listen to and understand detailed directions.
  • Willingness to ask questions if directions given are unclear.
  • Proficient personal computer skills with Microsoft Office products, including electronic mail, word processing, Power Point, spreadsheets.  Experience with various graphics desirable but not necessary.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
  • Effectively work alone, with little supervision, or as part of a team
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill

Physical Demands

  • Regularly involves sitting, talking or listening and the use of hands and fingers.
  • Frequently standing and walking.
  • Occasionally involves reaching with hands and arms, stoops, crouches, climbs and/or balances.
  • Must be able to work under various environmental conditions on a multi-acre construction site

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
  • Involves light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.


Typical Environmental Conditions

  • May be exposed to loud noise levels (i.e. manufacturing equipment).
  • May be subject to areas of air-contamination, areas of high humidity, high heat, vibrations, exposure to toxic fumes and poorly lighted areas
  • May work above ground level where a possibility of fall exists and near moving mechanical parts
