Job Summary

The HR Business Partner effectively executes HR operations to enable the business to achieve its objectives successfully.  This position is responsible for implementing and monitoring HR strategies and programs, including labor and employee relations, employee engagement, employee communications, succession planning, organization development, training, recruiting, policies and procedures.  The HRBP works closely with the HR Centers of Excellence (COE) teams to deliver high-quality solutions along with providing guidance and development to the local HR team.


Essential Functions

  • Collaborates as a strategic business partner with business unit leadership to evaluate human resources in the business unit, identify opportunities for improvement, develop and execute a strategic vision for the HR function
  • Serves as Human Resources leader on site and an internal resource and trusted advisor to managers, supervisors and employees on personnel matters that affect performance and business relationships
  • Experience in a green-field environment requiring the volume-hiring, training, and engagement of a new workforce
  • Establishes strategies with business leaders to select and retain the diverse talent required to maintain a competitive advantage and to align with recruiting and business strategies
  • Recruits, screens, and leads interview process for the placement of hourly and salary personnel assuring that qualified employees are hired for current and future requirements
  • Develop and align HR initiatives to the business strategy which includes the ability to identify, analyze, understand and articulate business goals and objectives at the company, and business unit level
  • Directly supports the business/function leader with advice and counsel, seen as a “trusted advisor” explicitly being able to assess objectively, influence and counter when necessary
  • Leverages metrics for key insights and applies data judgment to drive recommendations, build out strategy, and proactively advise business leaders
  • Measures staffing effectiveness, including turnover analysis and action planning
  • Ultimately responsible to the business for quality and performance of all HR services provided
  • Partners with leaders on employee relation issues, including recommendations for investigations, progressive discipline and performance improvement plans, and terminations
  • Regular, in-person attendance and participation in designated department meetings (DRM, Leadership) as evidenced by being considered an integral part of the team
  • Ensures compliance on company policies as well as compliance with federal, state and local regulations such as wage orders, EEO, AAP, OSHA/Safety, Worker's Compensation, Unemployment, FLSA and FMLA
  • Provide career planning and development counsel to employees and managers
  • Drive culture to integrate Glanbia values in all aspects of the business
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications & Skills

  • 7 - 10 years HR generalist experience, HR Specialty or other business related experience in labor relations.
  • Manufacturing/plant experience preferred.
  • Greenfield experience preferred.
  • Experience in volume hiring and onboarding preferred.
  • Able to build and sustain strong relationships with peers and client business leaders.
  • Able to manage highly sensitive matters; maintain confidentiality and objectivity.
  • Strong Team skills

  • Diagnostic and problem solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources Management.
  • Professional HR certification preferred.
