GPN is a leading provider of brands in the UK/Ireland with a clear growth ambition to double revenue by 2022. This growth will come from a mix of organic sales growth, expansion of market presence and reaching new consumers within the UK and Ireland. This growth ambition means we need to be innovative and change orientated both organizationally and strategically. 

 

We are looking for a commercially astute General Manager who is passionate about the sports nutrition and healthy lifestyle categories with a record of building and leading a high performing team effectively within high growth environment. Specifically, we are seeking a General Manager to evolve and execute a winning business strategy which will enable Glanbia Performance Nutrition to deliver sustained growth across all our brands in these markets.

Principal Accountabilities

  • As the GM UK & Ireland, main focus will be to develop and implement a winning commercial strategy to deliver on the growth ambition of the UK & I markets.
  • Own the P&L for all Customers, managing to agreed Sales, GM and Operating Profit targets.
  • Devise and implement clear channel/customer strategies, defined by clear roles and excellence in execution.
  • Understand category and consumer insights in the UK&I so as to accelerate penetration.
  • Collaborate with Global and Regional Brand Leadership to design winning market strategies.
  • Establish most effective Route to Market, partnering with the RTM Director Europe to maximise retail cover and consumer reach whilst minimising costs.
  • Drive availability, visibility and conversion through consumer/shopper insight driven Brand, Pack, Price, Channel strategy that maximises sales potential and customer support whilst being aligned with broader European business.
  • Optimise the ecommerce in conjunction with the Ecommerce Director Europe.
  • Build a high performing team and optimum operating model to best serve the markets.
  • Drives positive culture of employee engagement and accountability.
  • Drive Customer Marketing and in-market execution of Brand Marketing plans.
  • Identify new market opportunities and distribution partnerships, develop robust business proposals to support buy-in from key stakeholders and negotiate contracts with a view to developing long term relationships.
  • Support in setting up a revised S&OP process and commercial processes in general.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in commercial or relevant functional roles.
  • Direct country management and P&L experience.
  • Clear strategic thinker with strong customer relationship management skills.
  • Experience across National Accounts as well as Field Sales Management.
  • Broad channel understanding including experience across FDM, Distribution and E-Commerce Channels.
  • Marketplace mapping and channel/account segmentation experience.
  • Proven and consistent track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a growth business.
  • Category management, customer insights and sales analytics experience.
  • Combination of prior CPG and start-up experience highly valued.
  • Fluent in English – other languages advantageous.
  • Interest in sport or health and fitness.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification.
