thinkThin - Inventory Control Manager

The role is accountable for ensuring that the accuracy of physical v perpetual inventory meets or exceeds performance expectations across finished goods and raw materials purchased and owned by company (thinkThin), across the supply chain network of distribution centers and manufacturing sites.


Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement a standardized inventory control program, consisting of a formal cycle count program and full physical inventory program, across all sites storing and/or handling raw materials and finished goods owned by the company. 
  • Document standard policies and operating procedures for the standard inventory control program and ensure all sites are trained and in compliance.
  • Develop and document standard processes that impact accuracy of perpetual v physical inventory, including, but not limited to:  production order process, inventory movement process (within warehouse), inventory stock transfer process.  Ensure all key personnel are trained and in compliance to the process.
  • Develop & publish necessary reporting for on-going management of inventory control.
  • Develop & communicate key performance metrics, including formal performance score card for all sites.
  • Lead the identification of root cause analysis & development / completion of corrective action planning for any performance deficiencies.
  • Influence and motivate indirect reports and vendor partners to ensure alignment and ownership of proper inventory control protocol is executed.
  • Lead the project planning and execution of annual physical inventory across all sites storing and/or handling raw materials and finished goods owned by the company.
  • Manage & maintain ERP data to ensure proper usage of perpetual inventory, including but not limited to BOM creation and communication.
  • Conducts one’s self with the highest regard to ethics.
  • Leads continuous improvement across process, execution and performance related to activities that impact inventory control.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of shipping and warehouse procedures and regulations required.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to positively interact with people in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to continuously changing environments.
  • Ability to influence and coach indirect team members and vendor partners.
  • Experience in managing & executing inventory control program & best practice methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability for strategic thinking and willingness to perform tactical execution.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify root causes.



  • Min. Bachelors Degree required.
  • 7+ year experience in supply operations and inventory control management.
  • Experience with WMS or ERP system, including understanding of master data management & tables.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (especially word and excel)
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
