Overview

We have an opportunity for an experienced Process Manager to join the team based in Lough Egish, Co Monaghan.  The successful candidate will reports to the Site Manager as part of the Plant Management Team & have responsibility for developing and implementing the site Process Strategy to Ultra High Temperature (UHT) Milk & Cream standards in order to meet customer requirements, the requirements of the Glanbia Ireland organisation and associated regulatory standards.

 

If you have a third level qualification in a Science, Health & Safety, Food, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline, coupled with experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Process Improvement or product development, then talk to us today!

 

Operational Support

  • As member of Plant Management Team, this role ownership & responsibility of KPI’s relating to Process including; Health and Safety, Process Performance, Process Data Management, Root Cause Analysis Closeout, C.I., Employee Engagement, Project Completion and Financial targets
  • Ensure all individual process units in the site are operating efficiently to the highest standards and delivering on their individual KPIs
  • Supporting of Maintenance & Operations team as the SME on the various Process units onsite.

 

Technical Process Design

  • Through leadership of the process team, systematically review plant performance to identify opportunities for process optimisation, redesign projects and other performance enhancement initiatives.
  • Lead process team in the engineering design, execution, documentation and scheduling of equipment & infrastructural improvement projects, necessary for the Lough Egish site to deliver and drive improvements in production capability and cost.
  • Lead team in conducting process testing and validation on all Plant processes in line with agreed KPIs.
  • Monitor and support all plant commissioning activities including management of onsite trials, with responsibility for signoff on plant KPI’s and takeover tests
  • Co-ordination of technical inputs to Qualification programme including the review and approval of the Master Plan, Impact Assessments, Protocols (IQ/OQ) etc. 

 

Automation

  • Responsibility as the Site Automation Lead with management of plant automation equipment, code development and implementation including process description generation, FDS review and FAT testing with support from the central automation team and external vendors.

 

Operation Excellence

  • Lead overall development and implementation of Operational Excellence Strategy
  • Support all Plant Personnel in implementation of improvement projects, facilitating and monitoring improvement initiatives through the use of Lean tools and techniques
  • Analyse production performance data and providing insight into performance issues and opportunities. Use data, customer and employee feedback to shape, design and drive improvement opportunities
  • Take a leadership role in driving culture of continuous improvement and root cause analysis of process problems from within the operations team
  • Reduce costs and improve efficiencies through a detailed knowledge of the process and a continuous goal of eliminating waste.

 

Change Management

  • Establish a continuous improvement project management governance and methodology for Lough Egish in conjunction with key stakeholders in the Plant and centrally in Tirlán
  • Take a leadership role in the effective management of all cross functional projects (e.g. production, quality and maintenance) from scoping and design to implementation and review
  • Act as the gateway for the implementation of change in the Production environment.  Will act as key decision maker in prioritising the implementation of change with main stakeholders
  • Through deployment of project management methodology drive other support teams activities and inputs to projects such as HR, Training, IT, Quality and H&S
  • Take leadership role in communicating and effecting change in the production environment.

 

General Management

  • Co-ordinate and manage the outputs of the process team and implement performance management and succession planning practices with team members
  • Contribute to the development of site culture and act as role model for Plant values and behaviours.
  • Act as role model in the implementation of site cleanliness and hygiene standards.

 

Key Requirements

  • Third level qualification in a Mechanical, Chemical & Process or another Engineering discipline
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Process Improvement or Product Development,
  • 3-8 years manufacturing experience preferably in a dairy, food & beverage or pharma background desirable
  • Experience in operating within, and delivering on, the highest quality standards in the manufacturing sector
  • Results driven, customer focused with high performance capability in a fast moving challenging business environment
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills and the ability to nurture and develop employees
