Job Summary

The role of the Supply Chain Optimization Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to agreed deadlines and within budget. This includes identifying and acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of employees (cross-functional teams) and third-party contractors or consultants, in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Supply Chain Optimization Manager will also define and get buy-in from key stakeholders on the project’s objectives.  The result of the project/improvement must be sustainable and efforts should be devoted to ensuring the solutions “stick.”  The Supply Chain Optimization Manager will provide support to the entire GNIT team (e.g. sales, supply chain, customer service, finance, marketing, R&D), and to other divisions as required

Essential Functions

  • Direct and manage projects from beginning to end - develop project plans.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with the stakeholders. 
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis and continually manage project expectations with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a keen ability to effectively influence individuals up, down and across the business to gain buy-in and to drive results.
  • Provide common problem-solving and analysis tools used in supply chain optimization
  • Ensure all teams understand and drive to root cause.  Be involved with and lead troubleshooting and problem solving exercises
  • Continuous evaluation and implementation of process improvements utilizing TPM methodology.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes when necessary.
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, metrics, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Analyze results and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 10 years of experience or equivalent years of experience in successfully managing complex programs, projects and/or processes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and in written form.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams of people through projects to successful completion.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Flexible during times of change.
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources

  • Regularly involves sitting, talking or listening and the use of hands and fingers.

  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.

  • May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e. office equipment or light traffic).
  • May be subject to areas of air-contamination, areas of high humidity, high heat, vibrations, exposure to toxic fumes and poorly lighted areas

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional overnight travel (up to 30%) by land and/or air.
