The opportunity where you will make an impact:


Coman (Contract Manufacturing) Supplier Relationship Manager - 12 Month FTC

As our Coman (Contract Manufacturer) Supplier relationship manager, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and implementing supply improvement programs with our key Comans.  The key aspect of the roles is to ensuring that Coman supply is significantly improved. This is both for the immediate short term, but also to ensure that processes are implemented so that these improvements are embedded in our ways of working so that benefits are sustainable and stick for the long term. The role will require strong partnering across procurement and supply chain teams as well relationship management with our external Coman partners. Overall, we have 20 Comans who are key to our business as they bring capabilities that add to our own factory capability and which deliver $50M in revenues for the UK/EU business.  We are looking for an individual with a strong supply chain, planning, procurement background and who is motivated by delivering a legacy of lasting improvement.   The key attributes and work activities we are looking for include.



  • Work closely with procurement and supply teams to understand current status and identify the intervention required to improve our Coman performance
  • Engage with external parties, our Comans, to get their view on how we can jointly  improve supply – understand if there is industry best practice that can be reapplied
  • Early flagging of any issue being experienced by our Co-Mans that would affect or disrupt supply of their products to GPN.  Effective and precise communication of these internally within supply and then to the impacted commercial teams will be key to managing to a more acceptable resolution whilst also managing internal stakeholder and customer expectations
  • Develop a succinct set of KPIs/Scorecard that measure and tack vendor performance, work with our Comans to ensure this is regularly updated and used to drive improvement.
  • Develop an approach for the early identification of potential performance issues so that mitigating actions can be taken or alternative plans made.  
  • Formalize agreements with key vendors through establishing workable SLAs (Service Level Agreement) with our partners.  This will highlight what Glanbia will provide and in return, what performance is expected from the vendor.
  • Develop programs/process to identify inventory held at Comas (both finished goods and input materials) and us this to develop a picture of the obsolescence risk at our Coman
  • Through linking across the product supply community establish regular communication/updates to the broader business on the status of Coman supply
  • Set up Cross Functional business review with the Key Comans, Quarterly or Twice yearly as appropriate
  • Evaluate opportunities to rationalize the Coman supply base, helping to identify those vendors who would enable us to have Fewer, Better, Bigger partners.
  • We are an inquisitive business by nature and so you will be looking for opportunities to improve efficiency and costs to the benefit of GPN and its partners wherever possible. 
  • Should you become aware of product development or new product opportunities these must be flagged to our R&D team for further consideration



What you will bring to GPN:


  • Significant experiance (5-10years) in in procurement and/or supply chain roes, ideally  in the FMCG space
  • Record of accomplishment in vendor relationship management and continuous improvement in supply from key vendors.
  • Process focused, able to document agreements and new ways of working
  • Skilled in  MS Office programmes and working knowledge of SAP
  • An individual with keen attention to detail with the ability to plan and prioritise the tasks
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment, but also to bring in others as needed
  • A strong team player who is tenacious with the skills to engage well with others in environments where differences of opinion exist
  • Someone comfortable with ambiguity and comfortable in operating in an  environment where the best solutions are not always obvious
  • Experience in project management and delivering change projects
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
