Glanbia Performance Nutrition UK is one of Europe’s leading sports and specialist nutrition companies developing and manufacturing a range of sports nutritional powders, bars and ready to mix drinks. We are now looking to recruit a Materials Supply Manager to work within the Factory Planning team accountable for raw material supply (ingredients, packaging and consumables). This is a key role within our organisation and one which we are continually developing as the business grows.


The opportunity where you will make an impact:


  • Partner with Factory management including operations, customer service, finance, R&D and quality to ensure EMEA supply and availability objectives are met.
  • In partnership with production planning and manufacturing requirements, deliver a supply plan ensuring a balance between high level of coverage, inventory on site above safety stock settings and zero excess and aged inventory.
  • Liaising with Procurement Managers ensuring sourcing plans are aligned to contracted volumes.
  • Share forecasted demand from JDA with all suppliers so they can plan their business around ours.
  • Accountable for safety stock settings (monthly) balancing impact on service and inventory and sign off with Production Planning Manager and Head of Planning.
  • Accountable for material master data (bespoke/customer bespoke/underwritten agreements) (monthly) in line with changes to FG PLCM with a view to identify excess/aged inventory risks and preventative opportunities ahead of time.
  • Facilitate and lead Aged Ingredient and Packaging process. Review and action activities to progress and resolve excess ingredient and packaging inventory.
  • Raise monthly write offs with in depth RCA, ensuring there are no spikes at the half/end of year, with the overall value spread across each month.
  • Support the New Ingredients Management process, ensuring material availability for trials and launches. Follow through on new SAP material set up ensuring Material Planners are able to call off inventory in line with planned production.  
  • Support the daily production meeting - addressing any points arising, and support trials required for new ingredients and alternative suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain materials master data in SAP and JDA, including units per pallet, MOQ, Incoming Inspection lead time, purchasing lead time and Safety Stock level.
  • Validate material inbounds to ensure minimal risk to excess/aged inventory and maximum availability for production to meet service level targets.
  • Support the factory planning team in cross training and holiday coverage as needed.
  • Implement, analyse and report daily, weekly and monthly Materials Planning KPI’s.


What you will bring to GPN:


  • Degree in supply chain or APICS with similar experience in a factory planning role in a fast paced environment.
  • Previous experience working with SAP and / or JDA.
  • Strong numeracy skills along with ability to work under pressure, with multiple challenges and the need to balance conflicting business requirements.
  • Be flexible and be able to work as part of a team, cross functional within a factory environment as well as across an EMEA reporting structure.
  • Be computer literate (Excel, Word and E-Mail etc.).
  • Possess an excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong time management and organization skills are essential.
