We are looking for an experienced Production Planning Manager to join our team on a 12 month FTC. As Production Planning Manager, you will effectively manage the end to end process of Production/Materials Planning.  Focus on achieving maximum production efficiency & OTIF for our customers, through provision of controlled, uniform & in-time planning, whilst embedding a culture of continuous improvement throughout the Planning Team and delivering strong and consistent leadership.


The opportunity where you will make an impact:

  • Continuously Monitor and analyse on site capacity to provide meaningful feedback on how this meets forecast demand and production requirements, with solutions delivered, in-conjunction with the broader Supply Chain team, where bottlenecks become apparent
  • Ensure maximum return against standard costs through efficient plans, expedition of material requirements & optimisation of stock levels and through high levels of productivity in your team and in the manufacturing process as a whole
  • Effective preparation to meet the production plan and wherever possible effectively 'early warn' against future problems and issues whilst identifying solutions
  • Co-ordinate your resources to ensure that Production and Materials Planning are fully aligned in order to output the most efficient and achievable production plans
  • Attend the planning meeting and ensure teams identify and exploit any potential opportunities to improve efficiency, whilst not compromising Safety or Quality standards
  • Liaise with Supply planning, Customer services and Procurement in order to have continuality with both supply and demand
  • To be accountable for implantation and update of SOP’s for planning rules, planning data accuracy measurement and reporting
  • Planning production through the factory to meet customer requirements whilst aiming for maximum efficiency in relation to the use of machinery raw materials and labour
  • Ensure effective cost control through replenishment of raw and packaging materials
  • Smart planning and maximising stocks and safety stock levels to increase run length and scheduling products to cut down changeovers
  • Manage Aged stock review meetings. To include all Ingredients and Packaging with company liability for both on and offsite stocks, schedule plans to consume or identify and explore further outcome to reduce financial risk to the business. This includes bespoke packaging, and up and coming aged and out of date raw materials
  • Be an advocate for GPN values and encourage all to live these as part of their working lives
  • Development of team structure to ensure all planners are capable of making business critical decisions


What you will bring to GPN:

  • Proven experience/background of 5+ years of production planning in a leadership capacity, preferably within the food industry is essential
  • Solid planning and demand planning skills developed in an FMCG Supply Chain environment
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Outstanding process skills, time management and strong sense of urgency
  • Strong leadership/interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think on feet in a changing environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
