The opportunity where you will make an impact:


Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, the role is a key position within the Quality Team. The role is based primarily within the manufacturing site and will be factory and office based. Occasional customer or supplier visits will be required. The role is customer facing with responsibility for both internal and external customers


  • Responsible for the completion of customer specifications using online portals
  • Coordinate the completion of customer documents including RSPO data, Supplier Audit Questionnaires & policy statements
  • Maintain compliance with customer requirements ensuring that relevant customer codes of practice are reviewed and presented to the site team
  • Supply internal and external customers information to aid successful exporting of finished goods
  • Ensure records are maintained for the site certifications including Rainforest Alliance, RSPO, BRCGS, Informed Sport
  • Complete and maintain technical SOP’s Lead annual reviews of all department SOPs and Risk Assessments
  • Lead the department training program, by delivering key technical training on the factory floor and through development of a detailed department skills matrix.
  • Key customer contact with regards to quality enquiries and complaints.
  • Responsible for leading quality investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and closed out.
  • Working with the wider site and technical team ensure all relevant KPIs are completed on time.
  • Represent the technical team at key meetings ensuing all actions are feedback and followed through to completion.
  • Become an active part in the site internal audit program, by completing quality management system and practical factory environmental audits.
  • Liaise with R&D during trials and product launches to ensure new raw materials specifications and supplier approvals are available to required standard as required. Ensure compliance with customer codes of practice.
  • Assist with absence cover for Quality Assurance Technicians and Laboratory Coordinator


What you will bring to GPN:

  • Previous food industry experience within a quality or technical function essential.
  • A Degree or HND standard of education in a relevant discipline
  • Level 3 or above in Food Hygiene.
  • HACCP qualification
  • Training Qualification or Experience in delivering training
  • TACCP / VACCP experience
  • Basic microbiology and chemistry experience
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook) is essential and SAP experience would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience of online portals such as Laboratory Submission and Management QADEX and Retailer Specification Management Systems would be beneficial.
  • The ability to work in a fast moving rapidly changing business is essential.
  • Highly organised with ability to prioritise workload
  • Build strong relationships with customers both internal and external to the site
  • Able to work within a factory environment
  • Able to deliver with conflicting and changes in priorities.
  • Ability to manage and deliver a diverse range of tasks.
