Responsible from “field to fork” you are to provide leadership to the Technical Department, Site team, Co-manufacturers and the wider EMEA business in the disciplines of Product Safety, Quality and Legality, whilst ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, customer / audit standards and Glanbia / GPN best practice.  Maintaining the relevance of and driving forward the site QMS to   deliver continuous improvement in your areas of responsibility and across the wider business, whilst encouraging best practice at all levels within the organisation to promote a right first time approach and establish a food safety culture. Effectively manage information flow on Technical & Quality   matters within and outside of the business to keep all parties appropriately informed, whilst maintaining control of the process and outcomes.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the working environment, equipment, plant and people meet with legislative and internal health and safety standards at all times.

Maintaining the integrity of our products and therefore the business itself is an absolute.  You must ensure this is always the case as we never knowingly compromise product safety.

  • To lead the site HACCP team, with responsibility for developing, implementing and maintaining the site HACCP study.

Never knowingly compromise on quality; be The Customers’ Champion and show Passion for our Brands by striving for the highest possible standards of quality in our products, people & plant.

  • Ensure all products meet the requirements of the internal and customer specifications and are produced in line with the requirements of the Quality Management System for site and Co-Man produced product.  Ensure any necessary amendments or deviations to the requirements are risk assessed, recorded & authorised appropriately before communication to the relevant personnel in the site & broader Technical and Product Supply departments.

People & Structure

  • You must Develop the Best in everyone within their roles to ensure our success in achieving legal, customer, business and individual targets, whilst building a Sense of Fun into what we do and Showing Respect to all.

You must maintain a structured approach to the delivery of the site strategy plan and the business targets as second chances to get it right are rare.

  • Develop and present strategic Quality plans aligned to site, EMEA, Global & Corporate initiatives to the Operations Director and Site Leadership Team with a rolling three year horizon that encompasses projects (inc. Capital spend), structure development, system improvement and vehicles for change.
  • Ensure effective cost control through best use of all resources including QA, laboratory & hygiene consumables, sampling & testing, minimising waste and maximising labour usage.

 

Experience and qualifications necessary:

  • Previous food / pharma industry experience essential in an equivalent position
  • A Degree or HND standard of education
  • Advanced Food Hygiene and Health & Safety
  • HACCP Certification
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook) and SAP preferrably
