As the category leader, Amazing Grass sells and distributes a broad range of plant-based nutritional products though premium retailers such as Whole Foods, Sprouts, Costco, Target and Amazon.

 

The Position                                         

The Strategic Accounts Sales Manager accountability is rooted in profitable achievement of revenue goals generated by plans built by the Strategic Accounts Sales Manager and negotiated with headquarter accounts.  Success depends entirely on the Account Manager’s ability to build sustainable partnerships with decision-makers at assigned accounts, leading to annual plans to achieve revenue, distribution and merchandising plans aligned with Amazing Grass strategic goals. Account responsibilities include Whole Foods Market, Sprouts, Target and other potential key customers.  The Strategic Accounts Sales Manager is equally accountable for partnering with customers, supply chain, and finance to insure plans are executed to optimize Amazing Grass’ financial return, customer service metrics, merchandising performance, and retailer satisfaction. Utilization and analysis of SPINS, Whole Foods Market Portal data, and internal customer data are part of the scope of the position. Finally, the Strategic Accounts Manager is required to allocate the necessary administrative time to insure timely completion of activities toward achievement of metrics including accounts receivable, invoice accuracy, and customer service goals.

 

The position is home-office based; preferably near a major airport.

 

The company headquarters is located in Newport Beach, CA.

 

The National Account Manager reports to the Senior Director of Sales.

 

Major Responsibilities

 

 Sales Management

  • Achieve assigned quarterly and annual revenue goals by product group for direct accounts
  • Cascade headquarter-developed marketing programs to direct accounts, collaborating with the retailer and Amazing Grass marketing to customize events as possible/necessary
  • Timely and complete presentation and acceptance of new items
  • Ongoing relationship-building with key stakeholders and decision makers at assigned accounts, maintaining &/or enhancing Amazing Grass’  position as a preferred vendor
  • Timely and accurate communication with Sales and Marketing Analyst of promotional allowances with a goal of >95% invoice accuracy (net pricing/promotional pricing)
  • Timely collaboration across functions to insure plan approval, appropriate inventory and adequate merchandising planning/proper merchandising execution.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders/decision-makers at assigned accounts to insure preferred vendor treatment

 

Administrative

  • Complete required sales reporting activities
  • Timely forecasting of extraordinary volume requirements
  • Complete and accurate submission of requests for headquarter support (marketing, finance, supply chain)
  • Timely, complete and accurate submission of promotional discounts
  • Timely response to headquarter requests for support in the areas of Accounts Receivables, Forecasting or competitive
  • Ongoing communication of significant competitive activity to Sales and Marketing leadership

 

Sales Team Support

  • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.  If needed, enlist support of EVP, Sales to resolve issues
  • Customer Service mindset, with prompt response to internal or external customer needs, communicating positively in challenging situations

 

 

Essential Qualifications

  • 5 + years Consumer Products experience is required. 
  • The candidate must be skilled in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. 
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills and positive attitude a must.
