Reporting to the Head of Operations, Agribusiness, this role will be responsible for the monitoring, management and accountability for the quality of products manufactured in the Mill.  The Mill Manager oversees and reviews the operations of the Mill; monitoring the performance including the establishment of Glanbia Performance System (GPS) practices and culture.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive day to day manufacturing efficiency and operations excellence agenda.
  • Manage Grain Operations and Feed Mill team to deliver on production and processing requirements.
  • Support the development and drive the implementation of product and customer quality service standards by championing quality and hygiene within the Feed Mill and Grain Plant
  • Collaborate and facilitate product development and launch activities within the Mill
  • Work with the Mill Maintenance and Process Manager to define capital requirements for development of new products, production improvements and asset replacements
  • Ensure compliance to standard work procedures
  • Facilitate autonomous maintenance by Mill Operators
  • Ownership of Operator training, development and appraisals
  • Conduct annual Performance appraisals with managers, plant operatives and staff
  • Formulate and develop annual capital expenditure plans
  • Define all cost budgets regarding the mill and grain plant
  • Define training of new and existing employees
  • Manage mill site EHS
  • Provide back-fill for site managers, staff, employees and formulating production shift rosters
  • Process end of month/year end stocks/meeting auditors
  • Support new development initiatives e.g. new systems and processes
  • Deal with new and existing customers that attend site visits

Key Requirements:

  • Third level production, engineering, science or business qualification, or equivalent experience. 
  • Three to five years’ experience in an operations management role.
  • Demonstrated high levels of financial and commercial acumen.
  • Proven people management and development skills are essential for this role.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
