JOB SUMMARY

 

This position is part of the Glanbia Nutritionals Operations Finance team for the Richfield plant.  Our team is responsible for operational performance reporting, cost reporting, planning and analysis for manufacturing plants in Idaho and New Mexico.   

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a firm understanding of accounting principles and standards in daily work.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting, analysis and trend information as requested.
  • Review work and assess for reasonableness; identify significant variances and carry out investigation.
  • Prepare and report on weekly/monthly reporting and analysis for costs and key performance indicators for the Richfield plant, EHS, and other areas as assigned.
  • Review weekly and monthly general ledger cost areas, prepare correcting journal entries as necessary.
  • Calculate and issue ingredients, packaging, cleaners, and miscellaneous usage on a daily/weekly basis. Prepare variance analysis to leadership on weekly and monthly basis.   
  • Identify opportunities and recommend process improvements/standardization; manage projects as assigned
  • Assist with plant annual planning processes; including preparation of variance analysis, explanations and presentations
  • Assist with standardization of reporting and analysis across manufacturing locations
  • Assist with processing whey purchases and reconciliations as required. 
  • Supports front desk function, including switchboard operator, greeting visitors, and distributing mail.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams across Idaho

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires an Associate's degree or equivalent; or a minimum of two year’s related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.   Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiply projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
  • Involves light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a productive/technical nature.
  • Should be able to identify and distinguish colors, see clearly at 20 inches or closer and at 20 feet or more.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly involves, talking or listening, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, and the use of hands and fingers.
  • Frequently involves standing and walking.
  • Occasionally involves crouching, stooping, and/or kneeling.

 

Typical Environmental Conditions

  • May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e. office equipment and light traffic).

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimal travel limited to the local area.
