Warehouse Operator

Essential Functions

  • Move inventory into warehouse and maintain accurate count of inventory
  • Stage outgoing loads for upcoming shipments
  • Complete incoming and outgoing load inspections on trucks
  • Complete load inspection form & maintain records book
  • Verify COA on incoming chemicals, ingredient and process aids and maintain records book
  • Ensure FIFO for warehouse packaging, chemicals and process aids is occurring
  • Control empty Drum/Tote/Pallets program and disposal
  • Maintain Forklift charging and battery water filling
  • Maintain cleanliness of warehouse including rafters and outside
  • Maintain packaging, chemical, filter and process aid inventories
  • Facilitate membrane inventorying with the Production Manager and own the disposal of old membranes
  • Maintain Chemical Segregation and Chemical storage cage area
  • Stage chemicals as needed for production
  • Ensure Yellow and Red Tag holds are placed on pallets as needed
  • Request and oversee return product as needed including pulling samples, rebags and correct disposition
  • Print new pallet labels
  • Palletize calcium product during shift and assist packaging crew with any other items in the palletizing area
  • Keep product cleared and stored coming off production line
  • Promotes and exhibits strong Food Safety and Quality practices
  • Promotes and exhibits strong Sustainability practices
  • Promotes and exhibits strong Housekeeping practices
  • Must report Safety, Food Safety, and Quality, Sustainability and Housekeeping problems to direct supervisor immediately
  • Actively participate in teams and on projects to improve the metrics for given area of responsibility
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Regular and timely attendance required
  • Identify improvement opportunities for warehouse and palletizing areas

     

Qualifications

  • Forklift experience preferred but not required
  • High school graduate or equivalent experience
  • Must be dependable and trustworthy
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with little supervision
  • Computer experience required
  • Strong attention to SAFTEY
  • Must have valid drivers license
  • Must be able to work in hot dusty conditions
  • Knowledge of USDA, FDA, SQF and customer requirements for a food manufacturing plant
  • Knowledge of Sustainability and EPA requirements for a manufacturing plant

 

  • Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment
  • Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality
  • Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed
  • Ability to read and write instructions in English
  • Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals
  • Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required
