SAP SCM Business Analyst


Glanbia Business Services: (GBS) is the Global IT and Finance SSC function which serves all of Glanbia’s global locations and operations. Within GBS we have over 100 SAP professionals working within our SAP COE’s who play an integral role in supporting our global businesses on integration of acquisitions, systems support for strategic process-related initiatives, as well as ongoing systems and process innovations. We provide a dynamic, exciting, and progressive environment for SAP professionals to grow and develop their careers, using best-in-class solutions and methodologies. We operate a single Global SAP ECC instance, and are currently planning for a migration project to S4 HANA in 2022.


The Role:

A vacancy has arisen for a SAP SCM Business Analyst at Glanbia Business Services. This is a permanent positionn and will sit within the Global SCM Systems COE team and reporting into the Lead Business Analyst, SCM Sustain Team.


The base location of the role will be Kilkenny or Dublin with a blended working arrangement available through our Smart working model which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance


Key deliverables of the role

  • Design, develop and deliver enhancements in relation to change requests and specified mini-projects, working on activities as:
  • Identify and document requirements, based on meetings with business representatives, and knowledge of Glanbia’s Global SCM Solution
  • Systems build activities including configuration, investigation of enhancement points and integrations, and writing techo-functional programming specifications, unit testing etc.
  • Systems testing cycles.
  • Training material preparation where appropriate.
  • Go-live planning and execution and providing post-live support.
  • Participate in implementations and continuous improvement projects on SCM systems, working with the wider SCM CoE team and other GBS CoE teams as required.
  • Provide assistance to the Application Support team in the resolution of complex support call escalations.
  • Develop and enhance SCM SD capabilities, through the design and delivery of targeted Webinars and Process / Day-in-the Life reviews.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in IT, Supply Chain or related discipline.
  • Ideally SAP Certified in SD module for ERP 6.0.
  • Three years’ experience in hands-on configuration and implementation roles within the SAP SD module.
  • Knowledge of IDOCs, MM/ WM and ability to debug ABAP code is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrable complex problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
