Glanbia Performance Nutrition is a wholly owned subsidiary of Glanbia headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois. GPN manufactures and markets the full range of performance nutrition products including protein, pre-workout, muscle gainers and general health. Job/Project Summary: Be a key contributor to the GPN team as an Corporate Strategy Intern 

 

Learning Objectives: 

  • Understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a Strategy & Corporate Development function.  

  • Understanding of how to work in ambiguity and take research / analysis into actionable insights 

  • Experience in quantitative (e.g., business case development, price / volume analysis) and qualitative (e.g., competitive intelligence, market trends) research and the ability to take insights to recommendations 

  • Story telling via different methods including formal presentations  

  • Strong understanding of CPG / Retail space and Food / Nutrition sector 

 

Expected Outcomes: 

  • Intern team project and final project presentation 

  • Strong Team collaboration 

  • Active participation in intern activities 

  

Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent): Job duties would include, but not be limited to: 

Reporting to the Manager of Strategy & Corporate Development, responsibilities are centered on aiding the Strategy & Corporate Development team in identifying and supporting growth opportunities across the business. Responsibilities include: (1) Work closely with Manager, Strategy & Corporate Development to help develop the Company's 1-year and 3-year plans, assisting in slide & narrative development, market trend research, competitive intelligence, and consumer / category insights; (2) Support corporate development activity (e.g., research to help identify acquisition targets, support business case development); (3) Engage with and support a diverse range of projects that cross functions / geographies; (4) Provide necessary support to a variety of Strategic growth initiatives 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Ideal candidate will be a creative, intellectually curious thinker who is self-motivated and has demonstrated interest in learning.  

  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related subject 

  • Action-oriented individual who is comfortable working in ambiguity 

  • Possesses strong analytical skills  

  • Has a broad-based business acumen 

  • Has ability to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect with peers & team members; Experience working in Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel is a plus 

  • Interest in CPG / Retail and the Food / Nutrition sector
